So the president is fined $2 million dollars for stealing from a charity, and it hardly makes the news and nobody seems to care. Meanwhile Trump and his cult members continue to complain about how unfair the media is to him. Where did we go wrong? This is truly madness!

On the face of it however, it sounds too much like “fake news”
A billionaire stealing from a charity?
Will look it up - he was fined so mayb some credibility, but too often that’s not the case
Perhaps it hasn’t made the splash anticipated for that reason - the supermarket tabloid trash journalism has become

Yep, money from a now-defunct foundation was funneled in go his campaign effort, a misuse of funds - ‘stealing’ not so sure about that, it’s all his money, but clearly a misuse of funds intended for his charity foundations - that’s how I read it anyway

Also saw a story that his children can no longer be involved w/the foundations b/c they were stealing from children’s charities - if true, that’s a worse thing than the misuse of funds that, as you said, resulted in a $2M fine - it wasn’t fake news after all

It actually wasn't his money. Trump had very little of his own money in his foundation. He solicited donations to his foundation from friends, business associates, and Republican donors. In 2016, there isn't a record of Trump putting a single dollar into his foundation. He did, however, use foundation money to pay fines for his business, buy artwork, and pay for golf outings.

Apologetics is an art. First, spin story as possible "Fake News" before checking it out, then after checking it out sprinkle some sugar on the turd.

It is sad Trump lacks the funds to pay for his necessities in life. If we would have have known this earlier, we could have all chipped in to help him out. Below is a little blurb on Don Jr's Boy Scout Dues:

https://www.bustle.com/p/did-trump-once-pay-his-sons-boy-scout-registration -fee-with-charity-money-72545

"Over the years, no other organization or charity has received as much financial support from the president as the Trump Foundation, with the largest donation amounting to $264,631 — the cause being renovating a fountain at the Plaza Hotel, one of his properties. The smallest donation dates back to 1989 — when Donald Trump Jr. was 11 years old — was the $7 Trump seemingly used to pay for his oldest son's Boy Scouts" registration fee.

You’re mellowing brer
Aren’t you forgetting, a despicable demagogue, a dirty devious despot who’s polluted the political atmosphere w/deep discord, divisive dissension, distrust & suspicion, anger & rancor, enmity & animosity - a deplorable disgrace to the office of the presidency, foisting on Americans w/an iron corrupt fist, sordid imperial government as inept & incompetent as it is illegal/reprehensible/repugnant while running roughshod over the Constitution

A scandalous scoundrel, a sleazy shyster, a self styled scofflaw, a belligerent bully, a wayward war monger/lethal loose cannon.....

He’s been called all these things
Less an apologist, I’m just one American who believes the law wouldn’t permit him to be free, much less in the WH, if he WERE all these things, or even half of them -
peaceful best wishes

Word, all good -
It’s the decline in journalistic standards/ethics I deplore, more than being a Trump supporter/apologist - that’s kinda my apple in this barrel, hate seeing it going rotten/sprouting worms

I haven't seen anything on the news, so I'd like to find out which charity he allegedly) stole from. Please post link.

There is this internet search engine called Google, try that.

I searched "Trump Charity Case", got pages of current articles, but once again ALL CORRUPT LIBERAL MEDIA. NOT ONE itty bitty report from Fox, Breitbart, Newsmax, or other conservative news. Therefore it is Fake News, did not happen.

Ok so check this out, with the idea that Google and Bing might be blocking conservative news from search results, I found a conservative news search engine "4conservative.com".
https://www.4conservative.com/search/?q=trump+charity+fraud&st=w&sc at=conservative_politics&bcat=&sa=

Nothing. NADA. At least on Google I finally eked out a Fox article.

Anything at all critical of your Dear Leader is MUZZLED.

All you "Fake News" people are blindfolded - your news is for real fake, or more accurately blacked out and non-existent - no wonder you aren't hearing about these things.

Hey, even Fox News reported it and admitted it was illegal activities, although they still sanitized it. But here you go. Using Google and finding a more unbiased site will give you more information on the misuse of funds and that the foundation money was mostly from other people and not Trump himself.

The advent of numerous news outlets hasn’t been helpful - they have to compete for higher ratings than the others & in that ongoing quest for viewers/listeners & $$$$, information becomes slanted, skewed, sensationalized & ultimately inaccurate IMO - not always but too often still

But yes, we might have been forced into this point by previous transgressions like the Warren Cmsn report on JFK, the misleading gov’t info a few years later about how well the war in Viet Nam was going, when US casualties were horrific.....into the Watergate era, the Iran contra scandal......& so on

"Fake News" is fake news. A disinfo buzzword that operates in much the same way as "conspiracy theory". A post-hypnotic trigger word to shut down all thought process related to the question. Highly effective voluntary self-induced mind control tactic.

It then becomes up to us to find the right answers.

Anyone who wants to follow politics right now, you don't need CNN or Fox or MSNBC. Check this list...

Trump's twitter feed
White House webpage - Speeches and press releases
C-SPAN
thomas.gov (the Congressional Record)

...and all the answers are there.
