House committee releases final Benghazi report

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/dec/13/final-benghazi-report-relea sed-by-house-committee/

https://benghazi.house.gov/NewInfo

Washington, D.C. – Select Committee on Benghazi Chairman Trey Gowdy (SC-04) released the following statement after the committee’s Majority released a mark of its investigative report:

“Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were heroes who gave their lives in service to our country. Their bravery and the courageous actions of so many others on the ground that night should be honored.

“When the Select Committee was formed, I promised to conduct this investigation in a manner worthy of the American people’s respect, and worthy of the memory of those who died. That is exactly what my colleagues and I have done.

“Now, I simply ask the American people to read this report for themselves, look at the evidence we have collected, and reach their own conclusions. You can read this report in less time than our fellow citizens were taking fire and fighting for their lives on the rooftops and in the streets of Benghazi.”

Secret emails and Benghazi = full investigation. Russian hacking during election = why all the fuss? Priorities and values clearly defined.

No kidding...That said, the Russian hacking efforts ultimately rely on ignorant and clueless voters who'll believe anything they read or hear. The American electorate in general simply isn't that well informed or educated. Add to that the fact that we have over half the population who doesn't vote at all, and our election process becomes extremely vulnerable to efforts from all sorts of propaganda, disinformation, etc....

Then of course, is our reliance on the antiquated electoral college. Yet another built in backdoor to swinging an election. Our election process needs a complete overhaul in my opinion.

Toss the electoral college, shorten the process to 6 months, public financing, voter registration via social security administration, early voting in every state, and most important, term limits for all federal elected positions.

No one credible has yet said they suspect actual voting was hacked, have they?

If the DNC servers were hacked and all those Podesta emails that Wikileaks published (among others) was the output, then this concern rests on the voters getting what... too much info? Because no one has come forward to claim all that data was falsified, have they? So too much info is now a bad thing?

If the Russians wanted to hack us for some type of advantage, it makes no logical sense that they'd then release the info stolen thru any source - Wikileaks or others. The only way such stolen data becomes valuable is to use it as embarrassing or negative leverage against a President later, when they're in office and their decisions matter. What good does it possibly do a foreign gov't to use such info to deny someone a win? Unless of course we're in deep conspiracy looneyland and believe they have something on Trump to use in the future.

No one's been more ignorant or clueless than Obama voters over the years, swallowing more lies and less performance than from any President, but I don't remember such accusations when it was you're guy in the winner's seat. But as George Carlin noted, we seem to like lot's of bs from our politicians, so none of this should come as a surprise.

Now, see, here I'd think that a Libertarian would be the first one to insist that our elections maintain the utmost integrity, regardless of party affiliation or bias.

Guess giving Putin the benefit of the doubt is more important. Strange times we live in.

They ever find those WMD in Iraq? I remember when doubting that notion in any way was tantamount to treason.

Then there's the whole matter of the entire economy being 24 hours from collapse, which apparently is a mark of high performance.

Strange, strange times.

U.S. Ambassador, J. Christopher Stevens, Tyrone Woods, Sean Smith and Glen Doherty were killed by Islamic Extremist Terrorists because of the gross incompetence Hillary Clinton and the obama administration.

Of course no one has said that actual votes were hacked....Thus my point that nothing the Russians did have any effect unless there's ignorant voters who actually believe Hilary ran a child sex ring for instance....You stated as much with your last paragraph about Obama supporters. It would seem to me you agree with and understand my point completely, Fuij....All disinformation relies on ignorance and laziness on some level.

Actually I was agreeing with you Chain, albeit from a different perspective. I don't know how disinformation from a foreign source is somehow different from disinformation from candidates or our own media. In some ways I think the latter is worse, as they are our own people desperately seeking power over fellow citizens. I've long thought all the silly efforts to get everyone to vote only reinforce the amount of ignorance in our elections, as so many have zero political awareness.

All we've heard for months in the run up to the election is Trump saying the election is rigged. Now that he's won he is doing everything in his power to stop any inquiry into the legitimacy of the election. I personally am offended that the Russians, along with the FBI, certainly played a role in determining the winner. I don't think you can overturn the results of the election based on anything they find, but I think it is important to find out what happened and to punish anybody tampering with the legitimacy of our election. Can you imagine the outrage if some middle eastern government hacked into Trump's computer and released Trump's taxes just before the election? Would the right be saying it isn't a big deal because it wasn't falsified? I think not!

Fantasy vs. Reality.

Trump was correct in his assertion that the election is rigged. It was proven by the outing of the DNC’s voter fraud operation, the corrupt liberal media outright lying amongst other facts.

I know you and the liberals all claim that Russia’s hacking of the DNC and Hillary Clinton’s senior campaign staff was “Putin’s effort to throw the election to Trump”. Crap. To date the DNI, The FBI and DHS have all stated that there is no evidence of such activity and the CIA’s so-called report was pure White House opinion and had no facts to back up their absurd allegation.

There will be no “overturning the results of the election” as there is no evidence of any malfeasance.

“Can you imagine the outrage if some middle eastern government hacked into Trump's computer and released Trump's taxes just before the election?”

That is exactly that, imagination. The farce dream of the some who simply cannot bring themselves to admit they lost. They had a bad candidate with no message and was corrupt, a criminal and a habitual liar.

Donald Trump won the election because he had a clear message of fixing the vast problems in our country and a proven professional record of accomplishment. The American People were tired of the Democrats failure to work for them.

Donald Trump identified the problems clearly during his campaign and offered solutions.
If you had been paying attention you would already know this but as with so many liberals who rely solely on the corrupt media and the left's internet sites so you are obviously uninformed.

Americans heard Donald Trump and elected him President.

Don't take this as me crying, because I fully accept that Trump won given the rules set up in the Constitution, but you clearly believe for some reason that the majority of Americans voted for Trump, which is not true. Clinton recieved over 2 million more votes than Trump. In the scheme of things, that doesn't matter as far as who will be our next president, but clearly you are overestimating the message in the election and Trump's popularity.

"but you clearly believe for some reason that the majority of Americans voted for Trump"

i never said as much. That is your interpretation and it does not matter.
The majority of Americans support Donald Trump and that is what does matter.

I would like to see evidence that the majority of Americans support Trump. The majority didn't vote for him.

___________________________________________________________________________ __________

And no one said a majority of The American People voted for Donald Trump.
That is the hangup of the lefties in deep denial and unable and unwilling to accept the facts.

The evidence is right in front of you that the majority of Americans support Trump.
You simply won't listen to the People while relying on the corrupt liberal media to control your brain.

Sounds like you have no proof that the majority of American's support Trump and you are just wrongly guessing that they do.
