It is rare if at all that I will pick a Jimi Hendrix tune by another artist over Jimi but I always found that this song was just part of Frank. True to the original and at the same time all his own.
Either way it kicks a**!!!

Either they say the same stuff at the front of that song each time they play it or that is the version on a live thing I have on cassette somewhere, I think it is just called Live ____________________ You want to talk to me

He did say it often around that time. Often the closer.
That Live album is great. ____________________ Zakk Wylde Joins Dickey in reformed Allman Brothers Band 2020

Mahogany Rush was incredible! That intro to Land of a 1000 Nights is about the best few seconds of skull-scraping wahwah and phase I ever heard. |

Saw it at Cal Jam 2! My first gig ever as wee high school sophomore. Good times! (Except for not finding our car but that's for another thread.)

His studio version of "All Along The Watchtower" is probably my fave version of that song. And that means a lot since it has been covered a zillion times.
Ah, and "Ditch Queen" kicks ass indeed! ____________________

"Stories Of A Hero" from Frank Marino's "Juggernaut" is one of his more subtle songs to be found on his hard hitting records from the early Eighties and still one of my fave tracks. Still "Wow!" after all these years:

I guess "Hey Joe" isn't a Jimi tune, but he's most associated with it. Regardless of that technicality, I have always preferred Roy Buchanan's version. |

Canadianmule, I've always loved the triumvirate of Canadian Rock. Rush, Triumph and Mahogany Rush. All 3 of these bands need to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame.
Anyway, back in '82 Frank released Juggernaut, they actually played Strange Dreams on Philly radio at the time. I found this record for about 8 dollars at a Record Swap meet that was held every Thanksgiving weekend. Turned out to be one of my favorite albums of all time. I was able to obtain a CD version later on since it was out of print in the states. I still listen to it regularly.
Don't know why these bands don't get the recognition that they deserve, but many of us in the Northeast really dug this music. |

Hate to be a downer,
But the audio of that must be from another performance.Because the last 5-6 seconds has him playing a passage/flurry of notes and his hands aren't even on the guitar and there are also few spots of him hitting/using the trem arm with no noticeable effect to the strings pitch. ____________________
