Don't know if this had been posted before...Pretty neat stuff, seeing these two on stage together. I've always wanted to hear Sonny sit in with the Bros. and squeeze in his takes on the likes of "Done Somebody Wrong" & Statesboro Blues"

From the "Crossroads" festival

We saw Sonny for the first time at JazzFest a few years ago and were surprised at how good he is. Saw this last weekend. And Derek...

Saw them on stage together 2 nights in a row for the Steelin'& Slidin' project in october 2005. 3 concerts in the Netherlands putting the slide guitar and steel guitar playing styles in the spotlight. 2 great nights of music. Meeting Derek, Sonny and Matt Mattison in an English style pub after the show was the icing on the cake.

Here's some info on those shows:

BTW, thanks for the youtube link!

That was one of the highlights live on Saturday. I think the only other guitar player who plays better off/with Derek is Jimmy H - whose absence looms larger every year he doesn't sit in at the Beacon

...are the two most innovative and creative slide guitar players on Earth What do I win?

That Steelin and Slidin festival has some stuff with Derek and Sonny that is just ridiculous. I heard a recording of it long ago, but it's pretty hard to find and I don't think it was ever officially released.

If anyone has a copy of it, I'd gladly do a trade/B+P for that show.

I saw Sonny a few years ago. I was Blown Away at how good he plays and sounds.

Thanks for the post. I'm adding some Sonny to the rotation today. Cheers!
