With Rory you got no Bullcrap..he just came out and smoked your a$$ for 90 minutes. I got to see him 2 times and I treasure the memories. Back in the 8 Track days I turned so many friends on to Rory..it's like everyone liked him. His songs remind me of really good times. Broke my heart to lose him...........

Sorry, but that info is incorrect. In january 1995 Rory was in the middle of a short tour in the Netherlands when his health problems started to become a big issue and very negatively affected his performances. After a few bad performances he had to cut a concert short and was taken "of the road". A few weeks later his brother Donal persuaded Rory that he had to take steps against his failing health. I saw Rory's second to last complete show (Sittard, Netherlands) and it was very sad experience. The show started much too late, was very short for Rory's standards (i guess about 90 minutes) and he was completely out of it. Most people thought he was just sloppy drunk but personally i thought he didn't look "ordinary" drunk but more like somebody who had a very bad reaction to alcohol and prescription drugs. He was there that night but at the same time he wasn't there. Sad. So very sad. Unfortunally a few months later, after an initially succesful liver transplant, things got even worser and Rory passed away. The only positive aspect of that concert in january was the fact that shortly thereafter my girlfriend and i found out she was pregnant and that the name Rory was soon on the top of the namelist in case it would be a boy. Rory Gallagher passed away in june and my son Rory was born in september.

This is some classic Rory live in Switzerland from earlier in his career when Gerry McAvoy was still his bassplayer:

He plays himself in a sweat within minutes and makes the very reserved crowd goe bananas at the end. Long Live Rory Gallagher!
