The first thing I noticed when coming to the forum today was Jack's name. Great picture - thanks very much. Such a great guy, really miss him.

From the dragbike article on Jack: "Heroes: My father Don Learment , Elmer Trett & Duane Allman."

I really miss Jack. I remember meeting him for the first time at an ABB show outside of Detroit. I think the last time several of us saw him was at the Niagara Falls shows in 2006.

Great guy. Very wonderful soul.

sorry to be late to the party here. But I was a student at Muskingum College in 1971 and went to the concert that you see in the picture. There may have been 700 Students there. Everyone was in some make-shift bleachers set up in the gym for the concert. And we came and set on the floor. Once the band started to play people started to migrate to the floor as you can see in the picture. At the first break, Leon (the guy that booked them for $7K to play) took us to the back door where they were hanging outside and we got to meet them. The concert was a life-changing experience. really unbelievable. peace.

Thanks for sharing and for resurrecting this thread! Reading back and seeing those posts from a few that are now gone. Sweet stuff.

Semantics, I know.....But the numbers do not add up. What was the average ticket price for an ABB show in 1970?..$3?

Do the math.

I'm pretty sure at colleges/universities its free for the students, et al. The money to pay the band comes from student activity fees and such.
