RANDYGALVANsunshine shining through his hair...........
RANDYGALVANI meant to type "SUNBEAMS" shining through his hair, sorry.
danny_in_azDid it use to be bigger? doesn't seem too large to me.
JazzBassGood to see Twiggs back there! Twiggs was the Road Manager!! he also ramrodded the Dixie Dregs till he died parachuting. Live while you can, evidently!!
XOSweetPeachOXPic looks good to me! About Twiggs....some thoughts are that after being heartbroken over the incident with the ABB, he intentionally did himself in. He was an expert jumper and always said that when it was his time to go...parachuting would be the wa
XOSweetPeachOX(Ack...cut me off! ) way he'd want it to be.
StandingBack70Great pic. Thanks for sharing Randy!
EllisonfromMaconGaYea, Twiggs' story is one of many intriguing stories only the ABB could generate.
EllisonfromMaconGaWasn't this picture taken in Central City Park, here in Macon, Randy?
RANDYGALVANKim Payne mentions this fringe jacket on page 50 of the "Midnight Riders" book. "ELECTRIC DUANE".
horacegammetNice goldtop. I don't think that's the '57 that later was Dickey's, but I'm not 100% sure. I could easily be wrong. Duane had a lot of LP's.
RANDYGALVANHis golttop was not given to Dickey. There is a photo of them playing twin goldtops. I think it was at Riverside CA. Duane doesn't have a shirt on.
LesPaulStandardLoverDuane's 57' LP Gold Top was traded for 'Hotlanta' 59' LP Std. in Nashville in June 1971. It is now in a private collection, I've seen pictures of it somewhere on the web.
LesPaulStandardLoverNote: Duane had the '57 humbuckers taken out of his '57 LP Gold Top and put in the '58 or '59 (debated because the neck had been replaced and original SN destroyed) LP Standard Desert Burst Flame Top that he purchased and traded the '57 Gold Top for in Ju
LesPaulStandardLoverI correct myself, '57 Les Paul Gold Top was traded for the '58 Les Paul Cherry Sunburst with the guitar player for Stone Balloon. Duane's guitar tech traded out the pickups from "Goldie" and put them in the '58 Cherry Sunburst in the motel room before the
LesPaulStandardLoverThe '59 Gibson Les Paul tobacco burst flame top Duane got on June 25, 1971, brought to him by Linhof a guitar dealer. He traded a stripped '54 Strat plus $160 for it.
