Yes sir. Stevie Ray Vaughan got me interested in good music again. It made me feel so good to hear him on the radio. SRV was like Duane Allman and Jimi Hendrix. They just had a vibe, an energy, that made people move and feel spiritual and attracted musicians to what to be with them or get a similar band going. Not many musicians come along like those three. Derek Trucks and Gary Moore are a couple more that are in that zone for me but probably not to the degree that Duane and Stevie were.

Jack Pearson is another that is close. Dickey Betts and Gregg Allman are close but I swear if it hadn't been for feeding off Duane's energy and attitude, they may have made it but probably kinda second tier like Eric Johnson or Kenny Wayne Shepard.

People like Paul McCartney, Duane Allman, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Frank Sinatra, Elvis, Mick Jagger...there is just some kind of mojo or magic they were born with and they are going to be tops in music. It's in the cards man and those guys knew it too.Everybody in the ABB doubted they would make it except Duane. He KNEW he would. He never had a doubt. They say Eddie Van Halen knew he would be a rock star. BTW he is fighting throat cancer and it may be touch and go for him. He is 64. Eddie says it was caused by metal picks he would put in his mouth...Eddie thought those metal and brass picks he made himself were better for playing a guitar...but his doctors say it most likely was heavy cigarette smoking. Wishing EVH all the best!!
