No...and I don't want to. But I work in the medical field and help in the care of patients that have or my have one.

Yes drink lots of water. They cut your urinary tract when they move so it's very painful to pass one.

Worst pain I ever had when it moved from kidney to bladder. After about a month it did not pass. Saw Doc on Thursday and he said if it does not pass on the weekend he will go in and get it. He showed me the device he was going to stick up my penis. Fortunately it did pass easily on the weekend. I could not imagine it would ever work again if it got that rod stuck in there to pull out the stone.

Father-in-law had a 6mm one and got put under to break it up.

My sis-in-law had one this week. They hurt. Get well sooner than later.

Several years ago I had an episode with them,if you use the 1 to 10 pain scale they're are a ten,it can be more painful than childbirth. I was on an dialudid IV for 48 hours in the ER.

I had one a few years ago and made the mistake of trying to tough it out. Intense pain, I finally went to the emergency room and got some good drugs that made the pain disappear. I passed it the next day. Hang in and hopefully it will pass quickly.

sounds like my situation, I spent seven hours in the ER, but I should have gone earlier. The ER was a freak show thanks to everyone who responded.

They can break them up with lithotripsy (sound waves). I know someone who suffers, there are some dietary changes you can make to help, but really you have to drink a lot of water. If you don't like just regular water, try some teas or flavored waters. People who are working have problems finding time to drink water all day. Improvise, adapt and overcome. Drink a few cups before going to work. Drink some at lunch, and when you go home drink a few more cups. Have soup, or broth. Have no time to make anything? Get a quart of won ton soup. There are many ways to get your water.

Dehydration is bad for your body in many ways.

Drink a lot of water!
See a doc if the pain is unbearable.

If you aren't in the throes of a medical medical emergency,
you can use herbs to help break then up. I'm a nurse.

My brother used Dr Schulzes kidney flush. It's been years, he hasn't had another.

i've had them occur for over 20 years. had one recently i couldn't pass so they broke it up with a laser.
tea is bad because it contains oxcilates. other food to stay away from are oranges and beets. lots of water will keep them at bay. i also do kelp capsules to keep my ph at the right level. it's called the male version of child birth.

I passed one about 6 years ago and it was the most intense pain I have ever felt. Luckily it only took a few hours to pass. I talked to a woman who has had them and she told me it was worse than any of her childbirths.

Had lithotripsy soon after to break up stones in one kidney with was a success.

So now I have been having lower back pain on one side and the doctor believes it is from a 7mm stone in my left kidney. I am having Lithotripsy in 3weeks.

I was offered the option of the laser treatment but the thought of them snaking that thing up my johnson and then inserting a stent was not very appealing.

Can you share your experience with the laser treatment? Any after pain? did you have a stent and what was the removal like?

first off they knock you out so it isn't a problem. the first time it didn't work cause the ureter was too small. they put a stent in to stretch it out. the second time it worked. they left a stent in for about 10 days. removal was weird feeling but not painful. they have stones getting lasered on youtube. very wild.
