Oh I want that Sweet home Alabama Fender Stratocaster. The tone Ed gets on the record is among the best tones I've ever heard. Perhaps second only to Dickey's tone on One Way Out on Eat A Peach.

Yes I want that Strat. Now where do I send my check for 450 thousand dollars?

I think that sound was created mostly by Ed's fingers and touch. I heard that strat was average.

Pops42. Thanks for the tip on the Sweet Home Alabama Strat. Oh well. I just checked my balance and I'm a little short on the selling price anyway.

I assume that particular Strat is selling for half a million dollars because Ed played it on Sweet Home Alabama.

Then the Strat Hendrix played on All Along The Watchtower would sell for 1.3 billion dollars.

I saw Hendrix open for The Monkees in North Carolina in 1968 and for the slide part on Watchtower Jimi put the neck of his Strat against the mic stand. I doubt he does that on the record.

Jimi did to Bob Dylan what Aretha Franklin did to Otis Redding. Took a song away from the writer. Bob Dyland said after Jimi recorded his song when he (Dylan) plays it now he feels as if he is doing another person's song.

A good portion of the guitars that went to Carter were gobbled up by the local monster players before they even hit the market. I know Jason Isbell purchased Ed's iconic "Red Eye" 59 Burst. That thing is incredible.

I'd bet the SHA Strat winds up in the hands of some collector. I read somewhere even Ed wasn't a huge fan of the guitar, he just always hung on to it because of the sentimentality of it's history.
