Republican wins in the Georgia 6th Congressional race.

The Democrats last hope Jon Ossoff loses to Republican Karen Handel in the Georgia 6th. Ossoff could not even vote for himself because he does not live in the district.

With over $40 million in donations for Ossoff, 2/3 of which came in from California and New York the Democrats, in the race they called “a referendum on President Trump”, could not buy the seat and go down in defeat yet again.

In the South Carolina special election for a seat in Congress the Republican also won.

How completely shocking that a Republican won a district that they have held for 38 years against someone who doesn't even live in the district. I guess the fact that you posted this meant that you felt there must have been some kind of doubt in the outcome. Truth is that it shouldn't have even been so close.

Since the latest embarrassing loss by the Democrats not a peep from their new DNC Chairman, Obama, Hillary Clinton, Chuckie Schumer or Pelosi. All quiet on the far left.

The verbal diarrhea coming from the Democrats like “this Georgia 6th race is a referendum on Donald Trump” and “the Jon Ossoff win will set the tone for the 2018 mid-terms” has proven to be true. Just another loss by those who excel getting rejected by the people.

The Democrats platform of hate and standing for nothing isn’t working.

The only thing the Democrats won yesterday was the most expensive participation trophy ever.

Well, God forbid Muleguy ever view anything within any context, but most of these recent special elections occurred because of seats vacated by Republicans appointed to Trump's cabinet and staff. So naturally, they would more likely be replaced by....wait for it...a Republican. In 2009, after Obama's election, Democrats won all 5 special congressional elections; in 2017, Republicans have won 4 special elections so far. So it may seem like these are giant referendums of some kind because you read that, the real story is how close the Democrats are at all in these typically Republican districts - this was the closes a Democrat came to winning the Georgia seat in 25 years (same goes for SC race).

But if you want to bust out the champagne for a preseason game, go ahead, because of course I'm wasting my time explaining context that is more dynamic than "WIN=GOOD".

Theres a real perception problem being led by Pelosi. look at who was nominated, an avant-garde part time film documentary maker who didn't even live in the district, whose message was ", I am from Washington, I have the love of Hollywood liberals, and I am smarter than you hayseeds."

How long will it take dems to see that its time to rid themselves of the stigma that they are just nominating Pelosi puppets.

This sh*t means way too much to you bro. It's not that serious, calm down! "lost hope", "embarrassing"....such a drama queen. Since when does a man get so emotional over discussing politics? You sound like a creep when you make it so over-dramatic and personal. You should talk to someone about that - it's just politics. Why you make such a big deal about it is beyond me.

Hey goob,

Which is worse? Dem candidates = Pelosi puppets or Trump = Putin puppet?

While you're trying to figure that one out, you might want to do a couple google searches that might shed light on your criticism - 1) residency requirements for Congress and 2) members that don't live in the district they represent.

Anyone can see that Democrats are on the wrong end of a power struggle. They don't have strong enough leadership to compete. They don't have the strategies to overcome the lack of talent. They have been outcoached and outplayed fair and square. But it's cyclical, as it always has been throughout our history. It's pretty silly to allow it to mean more than that.

Absolutely spot on. I have always rationalized political power as being similar to a pendulum.

Pelosi takes heat after Dem loss

www.msn.com |

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/pelosi-takes-heat-after-dem-loss/ar- BBD0dDo?li=BBmkt5R&ocid=spartandhp

Democratic leaders in the House are taking heat after the party's disappointing special-election defeat in Georgia.

Some lawmakers were quick to blame their leadership for Jon Ossoff's defeat to Republican Karen Handel, saying the party failed to learn the 2016 lesson that running against President Trump without a positive message of your own is not enough to win elections.

Why wasn't anybody saying this a while back when the GOP was supposedly heading for extinction? Too many problems with women and minorities, too racist, too unhinged, not inclusive, out of touch, mean spirited, on and on.......Not only that, OBSTRUCTIONISTS who were preventing things from "getting done" in DC.

Supposedly the country had evolved to a point where Republicans would be cast aside and never win another election. If nothing else, sheer demographics would make it impossible....Great prediction, look forward to many more!

Case in point. Democrats displaying their penchant for creating a false reality, believing it, then expecting everyone else to as well.

With Barnum & Bailey closed down, that leaves Trump and his lackeys as the number one circus and greatest show on earth.

Tom Price won the election in 2016 with 62% of the vote. Handel got 51.9%. That is quite a drop in just 7 months, especially with a candidate who didn't live in the district. Tell me again about how this was a huge GOP win.

Mistake to focus on the turnout numbers. Focus on the number of seats lost since 2010.

I wasn't talking about the turnout. I was talking about the percentage of votes the candidates got and how the dynamics changed in just 7 months. I am sorry you don't understand what that means.

If you could let go of your creepy obsession with the Democrats, you would be able to see that it's a combination of all of these things. It's not just all one way or the other. Nothing in life is ever like that. The sooner you realize that, the better off you'll be. But judging by all the hatred you have for this political party, I don't see that happening anytime soon. Good luck to you with that .
