Never been sure just how to take conference performance in bowl games, it’s so hard to gauge how seriously any team or program is taking that year’s game. Some fanbases go all out, show up and the team brings it. Other fans don’t show up and the teams don’t either.
Along those lines, so happy for Iowa State on their bowl win and amazing season. Any of us that grew up around the Big 8/12 can tell you that come hell or high water, win or lose, ISU fans are dedicated to the core and never lose hope.
Baker Mayfield has a cold! Other than that, Not much Rose Bowl hype. The comparison of Mayfield to the Jordan With The Flu Game are idiotic, but ESPN gonna ESPN, I guess.
I have this strange feeling that Clemson is gonna smoke Alabama. I’m probably way off.
Anyone else intrigued by the Notre Dame-LSU matchup? ____________________ "Live every week like it's Shark Week." - Tracy Jordan |

I agree, the bowl season is really a season unto it's own. We see alot of different things out of teams, some good and some bad.
It is hard to ignore the PAC12's performance however. I have never been one to say hey this conference is the best (or worst), just look at their bowl record, for the reason I typed out first here. But these PAC12 teams have just sucked. Utah is their only win, and that was pretty ugly and sloppy, good for them that WVU was without their QB and best RB and 3 OL starters or else that game may've been competitive. Utah didn't win because they played well, just because they played less worse than WVU. Stanford played well in a loss vs TCU. Other than that...
Take Washington yesterday, the best defense in the PAC 12, their worst yardage allowed all season was 410 yards...Penn State wasn't too far away from reaching that IN THE FIRST HALF.
Some of those PAC12 loses perhaps aren't shocking, but some of the higher profile ones have been so ugly that one wonders where and when the conference will gain national respect again. |

If somebody would've told me that Miami would outrush Wisconsin before the game, I would've felt pretty good about betting the Canes. Few could've expected that Alex Hornibrook would be the best player on the field based off of how he's played this year. He hasn't always been bad, but he has had some bad moments. But he just dominated the game and was the reason Wisconsin won. 3 Miami turnovers hurt, but 2 missed FGs from the best kicker in Miami history (supposedly) hurt more. |

Yeah, tough way to lose a bet. The Jets screwed me that way yesterday as well. ____________________ You got to go through hell before you get to heaven. |

I'll sometimes monitor a game online and after every play it will raise or lower the % win chance (this is on a site like Fox Sports etc.). The funny ones to me are when a team's "chances" are 17%, they throw an incomplete pass and it goes up to 18%. I guess you assume if they'd throw a whole lot of incompletes, they'll win!
Rightfully so, I did notice Tampa Bay was a 1% with 4th and 10 on their own five with a minute to go. ____________________ "Y'all know the Fire Marshall... that's the cat that can't get a job as a policeman." Duane Allman |

Friggin' kicker couldn't make a 23 yard kick.....
I made some because of the over wager, but, I was getting eight. He makes that kick, I don't push, I get both. I hate kickers. Sorta like Mike Nugent making a 55 yarder and causing a push yesterday. ____________________ "Y'all know the Fire Marshall... that's the cat that can't get a job as a policeman." Duane Allman |

Thought things over, I think CFU keeps it close for a half, maybe a little longer, but, Auburn is too much for them to stop on offense. Took the Tigers -9 1/2. Also, a small play on LSU. Took Georgia. Mulling Clemson - 'Bama still. At the moment leaning Alabama. ____________________ "Y'all know the Fire Marshall... that's the cat that can't get a job as a policeman." Duane Allman |

I check the lines online just to see if my guy is close or not.
How 'bout that LSU kicker? One upped Miami's kicker by missing a 22 harder.

Credit to UCF, when they could have folded, came firing back.
A cover by LSU would be nice at this point.

Here, 'Bama went to -3 1/2, total at 48. Just might like the under there more than a team. ____________________ "Y'all know the Fire Marshall... that's the cat that can't get a job as a policeman." Duane Allman |

Doesn't look like any of us got rich yesterday. Notre Dame saved things for me. I hate rooting for them because I can't stand them but $ is $, right?
I can't believe Michigan's implosion yesterday. That was terrible. I hope that transfer QB they just got gets to play next year. I haven't heard the status of his situation. ____________________ You got to go through hell before you get to heaven. |

For the first time since I can remember, UCLA got their first choice as coach. The powers-that-be went all out, something none of us expected. (I didn't think they'd fire CJM due to his $11.8 mill buyout.). Obviously CCK had been successful and has plenty of cache. But as with any coach, you don't know until 3-4 seasons down the road if it was a good hire. Personally, I'm in wait and see mode.
Of course, the day of his official hire, UCLA was already hitting up fans and supporters for money. It's a business.
Great Rose Bowl yesterday. I hope UGA still has plenty in the tank to take on Bama in the NC game. Bama is out for blood.
