Seriously. After mocking people like Kathy Griffin and Robert DiNiro, we are supposed to care about the opinion of DENNIS FREAKIN' RODMAN.

I don't know how our resident Trumpsters can top this, but they will try.

DENNIS RODMAN!!!!!!

Dennis Rodman, wearing his MAGA hat embarrasses Obama and exposes Obama's failure.
The lefties here can't handle the fact that President Trump is getting the job done.

Ha ha.

You mean Dennis Rodman, wearing his MAGA hat, embarrasses America - as did toddler Trump himself.

Still crying that President Trump got the job done where Obama failed?

What job did trump get done?, mental midget??.

What is the matter pops, fake news not reported the facts again?

Thats right, YOU and your "sources of disinformation", idiot.

The job of praising a dictator. I haven't seen anything showing that North Korea has given us anything, only that we are giving up a lot.

Of course getting nothing will still impress the likes of Dennis Rodman, Kim Kardasian, Kanye West, Scott Baio, and Muleski - you know, the bottom of the barrel scrapings.

See what the state run media is reporting in NK, and those who suck on Trump may not be so excited. The reporting in NK is not quite what Emperor Trump has stated. Will not surprise anyone if Trump got played faster than Charlie Daniels plays fiddle on his new tune,"The Devil Went Down To Singapore".

Watched an interview last night from Singapore with Dennis Rodman. Always thought he was a quality basketball player. As far as he interview skills in prime time and knowledge of subject matter regarding the denuclearization and verifiable efforts...well suffice it to say he could not speak to this. He's out of his element, and anyone who puts credibility in his knowledge & props him up as anything more than someone who has hung out with a murderer and who wears a MAGA hat has inhaled glue one too many times.

North Korea gave up nothing other than a vague promise to "work toward denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, whatever that means. No time table. No inspections. No verification. Nothing. But we gave up very big and very specific items. Still hoping for the best, but we got way less than we did from the Iran agreement. In that case, we released Iran's assets that we froze in return for inspections...and then Trump pulls out of the deal so we now have no leverage AND no inspections. How exactly is Trump a great negotiator again?

Trump pulled out of the Iran deal which had inspections and timetables. He then agrees to a deal with no timetable or inspections. And he claims to be a great deal maker. He got flattered and gave away the store.

Several months ago Trump threatened to blow NK off of Little Rocket Man's map. Now he says he's developed a special bond with Rocket Man & will invite him to the White House. That's because Russian Don can read people in one minute.

Then Russian Don envisions condos along the beaches in North Korea. Now that Trump has proven he can make money off of the American taxpayer while in office...why not go international and also do it in North Korea? Maybe there is an opportunity for Ivanka to sell purses there. Surely a dictator who starves his own people and instead builds nukes would open up outlets for a designer line of Ivanka's purses.

No empathy for Trump nor Kim. Sad for the North Korean people who deserve better.

MAGA and MNKGA.

Doesn't matter to his followers. Whatever Trump says they believe and won't question. Any news outlet that doesn't spread his propaganda is just called fake news (their definition, and no need questioning it). On the bright side he said there was a special place in hell for the leader of our closest ally, at least we know he has his priorities straight. At least Muleski and Dennis Rodman think so.

So now it appears that Trump had agreed to halt joint war games with South Korea and that the US will withdrawal our forces from South Korea. Hey, I'm all for reducing our military footprint around the world, but this seems once again like we are throwing one of our best allies under the bus (like we have all week) to appease our enemies. What a crazy world we live in these days. I can't even begin to imagine how the Republicans would react to this if Obama proposed it.

The military excerises have been paused before and can be restarted.

I want out military out of South Korea. Trump has said he wants them out. But he also said at the press conference this is not the time to do so.

If throwing our allies (south korea) under the bus by stopping military exercises and contemplating withdrawal of US troops is so bad, perhaps they prefer the alternative of living under the threat of missile attack.

Let's be clear...the US military is installed in South Korea to keep global commerce open for business. No need for us to spend our money protecting South Korea or making sure KIAs or Samsung appliances reach our consumer market.

The door is open with North Korea, and that is a good thing. What happens from here may improve or not, we will see. If this is the start of United State withdrawal from the Korean peninsula and if this is the start of a normalized North Korea entering the world stage, that is a good thing. Again we will see.

Well, China is just north of NK. Strategic positioning, all that.

Once we occupy, we never leave anyway.

So, back to the title of the thread. North Korea - what should be done?

How about we meet with their leader without pre-conditions. Heep a ton of praise on him. End our joint military exercises with South Korea. Offer to remove our forces from South Korea. And in exchange we get a vague promise that they will work toward denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula, without guarantees of timetables, inspections, verification, etc. Our president also hints of building a hotel there.

Is that what you Trump fans were thinking when this thread was started?

I'm happy to reply, I started the thread. I don't know how some view my posts...I wouldn;t call myself a Trump supporter, he is after all an ego maniac who is either wrong or lying 75% of the time who tweats before he thinks. He is an idiot. All the same I voted for him, deciding to do so the morning of election day, and on certain positions will defend things that are in my interest perhaps better than the actual administration can defend the position. No I'm not wiz, it iis just how dim they are on a variety of issues. I don't think I would be confused with some others more easily labeled 'supporters' but we can't control how people see us like it or not, neither me nor you.

Yes, well, in the time and context that I posted the original thread almost 1-1/2 years ago it is pretty unexpected and surprising where we are.

But do we have much difference? From then to now?

Well, the North Koreans have suspended nuclear tests, they are not launching missiles, have released some US prisoners and for one reason or another, laid waste to a nuclear test site (that maybe already was wasted and of no use again). While this was happening the leaders of North Korea and South Korea met for the first time since 1953 and Kim took a trip to China. All this talk of him be legitimized by the US, Kim meeting with China and South Korea happening before the Singapore Summit, so it is like I said before, this is the guy in charge of North Korea...they are a real country, one with weapons of mass destruction - so I suppose one could ignore them and pretend they aren't there, not sure where that gets us. Or one could acknowledge who and what exists and try to deal with it in a non-military way. I mean I am not shy of advocating military action against adversaries when I think it is called for. With that said, I do not think anyone here who realizes what military action against North Korea would entail was actually calling for that. North Korea in my eyes has always been a conventional, traditional enemy that could be dealt with in traditional conventional ways. I am talking cold war stuff vs Al Qaeda - ISIS....diplomacy could stand a chance with one and never a chance with the other. So there was always hope that North Korea could be dealt with without firing a shot if they actually wanted to do come to terms.

I'll say I am concerned about the sincerity and the delivery on the promise to denuclearize. Let's see it through. Secretary of State, the UN, I would assume other countries in the region, South Korea, Japan, China an international agencies will be brought into the process, like the IAEA who has said they are ready and willing to assist when called upon.

If it goes nowhere, it is a bust. We've had busts before on North Korea. Why not try something different? In my humble and unqualified opinion, I tend to think it is possible that Kim Jong Un sees the economies of China and South Korea and he looks within and sees nothing and realizes there can be a better way forward.

It's just...the more we talk about this right now, the more everyone's opinion means nothing. Because nothing can be judged at this point. Does the North want to carry out what they said they will do and will the international community be assisting in that task? You have to walk before you run. I will say again what I said many times before regarding hints of optimism with North Korea, we will see.

Let's see, it could be fake news or the Democrats fault somehow. Fox News won't mention it. But North Korea will still have all the tapes of Tump praising their murderous dictator and saluting their generals.

Mule and Goober will still insist that Trump is great and was successful.

Next up - Trump to meet with Putin on his flattery tour to personally thank him for assisting in his bigly prez victory and to plot strategy to do more of the same for 2018 midterms.

What a guy - MAGA.

#1 GOP criteria for judging Trump - Putting conservative judges on Supreme Court. For that, GOP and especially evangelicals willing to sell their souls. Everything else "all things Trump" as outrageous and unacceptable to GOP have now become normalized. The GOP is on board for the ride.

Trump got what he wanted too. He got his face on a commemorative coin, coverage in the media, and Fox News pushing for him to get the Nobel Peace Prize. That's all that matters. His fans will not notice that North Korea is ramping up their nuclear program, as it won't be reported on Fox News. They will continue to believe what they want to believe, regardless of the facts. I mean, just think about it - they somehow think Iran is less likely to develop nuclear weapons now that inspectors are gone.

As questions and suspicions continue to surface on North Korea's nuclear program and their true intentions, Mike Pompeo is rumored to be going back to NK next week, first visit since the Trump-Kim meeting. Pompeo is stressing the importance of continued sanction enforcement, excerpt:

quote:
“We have observed China not enforcing control over their cross-border areas as vigorously as they were six or 12 months ago,” Pompeo said.

In April, the U.N. Security Council blacklisted dozens of ships and shipping companies over oil and coal smuggling by North Korea, including five based in China.

On Wednesday, Japan’s Kyodo news agency said Tokyo had alerted the U.N. about a suspected ship-to-ship transfer incident on June 21 involving a North Korean tanker in the East China Sea.

Pompeo also spoke with South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha on Thursday to discuss the next steps on engagement with North Korea, the State Department said. It said they agreed on the need to maintain pressure until North Korea denuclearizes.

On Thursday, the Financial Times quoted U.S. officials as saying that Pompeo plans to travel to North Korea next week for talks, but the State Department has declined to confirm this.

Pompeo said last week he likely would go back to North Korea “before too terribly long” to try to flesh out commitments made at the Trump-Kim meeting.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-northkorea-usa-china/pompeo-tells-china- continued-north-korea-sanctions-enforcement-needed-idUSKBN1JP2OA

Pompeo appeared before the Senate Appropriations subcommittee on Wednesday where he was questioned about a host of global issues, when asked on NK the Secretary declined to answer questions with specific detail; "I'm not prepared to talk about the discussions that are taking place, it would be inappropriate and frankly counterproductive...they're watching this hearing". In the 90 minute hearing there was no question on the public satellite images or anything related to on-going, or expanding nuclear facilities or research that may be taking place since the June 12th Trump-Kim meeting. On if NK remains a nuclear threat, Pompeo said "we have reduced risk" with implied agreement the threat does in fact remain.

So says a prez who goes by his instinct & attitude as well as not being interested in those "boring" intel briefings and guidance from intel agencies. But hey, if one is omnipotent then self reliance is all he needs.

All the while KJU and Putin spin him like a top.
