I am guessing you meant Alice In Chains' "Right Turn"? I think that's Cornell's 2nd best vocal performance. Only second to "Say Hello To Heaven" which would be on my songs that give me chill list.

- Derek, Duane, or Jack on "Dreams"
- Tedeschi Trucks Band on "Midnight in Harlem" - this is currently the best concert centerpiece out there
- Derek's solo on "Ain't Wasting Time No More"
- Anyone playing "Little Martha" or "Soul Serenade"
- "Albatross" by Fleetwood Mac
- I know a lot of people aren't fans of her, but Grace Potter's version of "I Shall Be Released" from Love for Levon has the chill factor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkDyHDyqYsQ
- There is an Ethipoian Jazz artist name Mulatu Astatqe, and his tune "Tezeta" is my ultimate stop everything and listen song - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wy-v-FgiUD8

My gut-punch songs have always been:

Band -- It Makes No Difference

George Jones -- He Stopped Loving Her Today

Clapton -- Old Love (24 Nights)

I got that feeling the first several hundred times I listened to Duane's solo in the middle of You Don't Love Me.

And the first several hundred times I listened to Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad from the Fillmore East album. The Layla album version is a great GREAT rock song, but the Live version brings the mournful feel that there should be with the title and the lyrics -- in no small part due to Radle's wonderful bass playing.

Derek's solo during "The Sky Is Crying" is consistently emotionally sublime.

The latest thing to blow my mind emotionally was -- believe it or not -- Gary Clark, Jr.'s solo in "Please Come Home" from his LIVE album. There are a few notes and runs that are just perfect. I had just got the album, and was listening to it on my iPod early in the morning sitting on the beach, and that song came on and I heard the solo for the first time, and I must've re-wound it and listened to it over and over for at least a half-hour.

He's not the best guitar player ever, and please, I don't mean to make this a GCJ debate thread, but that solo really does it for me.

The ones that jump off the top of my head are:

Temple of the Dog "Say Hello to Heaven"

David Gilmour's solos in "Comfortably Numb"

John Hiatt's "Have A Little Faith In Me"

Nice! Those two do it for me, too. Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns also gets me, the original Andrew Wood version and the PJ version when they first started covering it. Speaking of PJ, any live version where the crowd sings along to 'Black'

Also for me:
Rainbow, Stargazer, especially the part 'there's a rainbow rising, look there on the horizon'
Beatles, Let It Be and Hey Jude
Led Zeppelin, the opening to Since I've Been Loving You
Traditional, A Closer Walk With Thee and I'll Fly Away
Pink Floyd, Wish You Were Here. Warren's solo cover during the 10th anniversary Mule show in NOLA with the crowd sing along stands out.

A few older ones:
La Villa Stangiato- Rush
Desdamona- most of Derek's live solos
Just Breathe- Pearl Jam
Father Speaks- Screamin Cheetah Wheelies

I'm leaving out quite a few....

D-i-t-t-o

That B-flat, or whatever note Jimmy Page hits (am not a musician) during the chord change midway through Hats Off to Roy Harper gives me chills
So does the short, two-chord bridge midway through Amazing Journey
The insturmental solo guitar piece on Keith Secola's Circle album (unsure of song title) is guitar playing that for me is deeply emotional -- amazing, amazing
Also the start of Dickey Betts' solo in the studio version of NoBody Knows -- quiet -- then building up to a thing of powerful beauty

While most of those listed above still give me chills.

Holly Williams..."Waitin' on June" makes me cry every damn time.

I'm just an old softy I guess.
