James Taylor is a talented singer-songwriter who has suffered from drug addiction and mental illness. His own son has described his dad as "being out there." So while he is entitled to his opinion I see nothing into his credentials that makes him a political pundit. (btw - nothing in my credentials makes me one too)

Now if James Taylor had come out of the closet, the thread title might make somebody spit out some beverage.

He may be over the top with his praise of Obama but I don't see anything else in the article that was out of touch. His claim that Congress and the GOP have been obstructionist is true.

Not saying he did; just that his opinion is worth no more or less than anyone else's. And re: obstructionist while not untrue each side claims that the other side does that since they are so far apart ideologically.

I haven't lived through as many presidents as James Taylor, but I pretty much feel the same way. I don't agree with Obama on everything, and often wished he'd been more aggressive about certain things, but generally I think that he represents me and the world of people for whom I associate. As Taylor says, he has encouraged progress in ways that concerned me, and has the poise, intellect, and comprehensive approach to issues that I want in a leader. I've certainly been more comfortable and happy with him in the WH than any other president in my lifetime.
And although I'd love to see a woman in the WH, I can't say that I feel the same way about Hillary Clinton.

Obama is the only President I can remember that has been positioned as merely a bystander to his own Presidency. Even though he's been in power for nearly seven years, anything bad or any current problem is always someone else's fault.

The detached observer, finger-pointing schtick has worked well for Obama, largely because most of the media is DOA.

I noticed that too. Look, he gave it 4 hours, but nobody responded. He then got in the sandbox & played by himself. It must be intellectually satisfying????

Good thing it was you & not the President editing the post & hitting the wrong button. You'd have him for lunch for doing the same.

But if the President did it, it wouldn't be his fault. Obama would blame the Republicans..........NO, maybe Fox News................Global warming?

Nah, he'd blame the Republicans.

Don't you mean in office? In a democracy power is with the people.

Gregg and Butchie supported Jimmy Carter.
So what.

It is akin to the Hollywood types who claim they support "gun control" but they themselves have guns and surround themselves with armed security.

Ergo: nobody cares.
An "artists" political beliefs are their own and only matter to their groupies.

Good point, its like Al Gore saying the average Joe needs to pay more for electricity because of global warming regulations yet a single trans-atlantic trip on Als private jet releases more CO2 and particulates than regulating an entire neighborhoods vehicle emissions.
