Yeah but the conservatives have anointed him for sainthood. He is the GOP patron saint so miracles can still be performed in his name.

I'm a staunch conservative and I've forgotten about the dude. There are more pressing matters to deal with in the here and now. Charts, comparisons, the "dialogue"...it's all garbage and doesn't fix anything. Here...as well as in Congress, it usually deteriorates into insults and finger pointing and the result is, as we all know...nothing.

Maybe that is part of the problem, with all due respect, the conservatives seem to have forgotten about Reagan as they seem to have lost what their party used to stand for.

As far as the finger pointing sadly that is what our politicians have degenerated into. Just look at what theircampaigns have become. Instead of talking about the issues that need to be resolved both the GOP and Dems campaign now by highlighting the faults of their opponents whether true of imagined.

Conservatives haven't forgotten, although most Republican politicians have. Even then, I'm not
sure it's a matter of forgetting. Either they were never Conservatives in the first place, or they
have been intimidated into looking "moderate."

The Republican party of today, particularly the establishment, is about 80% weenie.

The problem, IMHO, is the "moderates" in the GOP who have a chance to win election, like Romney, are treated like outcasts and or traitors to the conservative cause these days.

Again IMHO, the radical extreme minority Tea Party has hijacked your GOP party, which is why it is such a train-wreck today, and has lost the support of women and minorities, and has no viable Presidential candidate on the horizon at this time.

Beats the hell out of the alternative. To repeat what I've said before, Republicans are bad - Democrats are worse.

IMO.

Personally, I would never support or vote for a party that I thought was bad. You, apparently, have no problem with voting against your interests.

My biggest beef with the current GOP is that it's MUCH to docile. They need to develop more of
a killer instinct and start calling out Liberalism like Reagan called out the USSR. Spell out the
failures, explain why they fail, spell out the alternative, then explain why the alternative is
favorable.

They get people to vote for em by Misinformation , disinformation ,propaganda, fear, and outright lying. except for the 1-2% who are voting "for" their interests, the other 98% of republican voters are not.

Evidently you are closer to the truth then you would like to admit since the GOP has lost the Gay, Women's, Minority, and Environmentalist votes. The only one you missed on was the old white people vote as they tend to vote Republican.

Good response. Bingo.

And the "old white people vote" as a % of GOP vote will change as younger generations age with a generally more open minded outlook and set of beliefs. The current old white people vote (one of the few sectors the GOP can currently eke out in a national election) is going the way of the condor.
