Nice reply to all those whose panties got twisted by Obama's salute with a coffee in hand.

Regardless of party affiliation, both Presidents were wrong and showed disrespect to the men and women in uniform with their half-@ssed attempts at salutes. I forget the exact clause, but I believe that it says (words to the effect) that if your hands are full while carrying objects, it is okay and acceptable to forgo the salute. Neither of these two deserves an excuse.

Eisenhower never saluted his detail. It's relatively new tradition or fad that started under Reagan. Traditionally, if you have no cover, you are out of uniform and it is disrespectful to salute when not in uniform. But some folks need things they can be outraged about, so this is as good as anything I guess.

How does that fit into your unsupported lie?

First, you have no idea who I voted for, you are just making yet another incorrect assumption.

Second, I know a few people who serve in the military. Your assumption is wrong. Just like the rest of society, some like him some don't. But most respect him as commander-in-chief.

Third, as you never supply any data to ever back up your claims, you are as low info as it gets.

Thanks for playing.

The United States is in another war so I think that we have bigger and better things to be discussing here.

It sure doesn't feel like we are at war. Scotty I think you know that I am an anti-war progressive. That doesn't mean I don't support the members of our military or worry when they are in peril. I'm a proud Air Force brat. My Dad served tours in both Korea and Vietnam. The cancer that killed him was probably caused by Agent Orange, regardless, he was a disabled veteran of foreign wars.

Now, without any Congressional approval the United States is off bombing another country. I'm at a loss as to what I really feel. So, like most Americans I go on living.

Gas in these parts is under $3 a gallon. Folks are rushing to and fro, eating at restaurants, going to ballgames, movies, recreating and having fun.

There is no sacrifice. No sign of war. Certainly no declaration of war.

The media is beating the drum doing their best to instill the fear that if we don't bomb over there the terrorists will kill us over here...

I don't know what to think.

after more than 10 years of coming here, I'm at the point now where, when I see a thread title, I click to the end of the thread and as I do so, try to guess how far off topic it went and where it went. Kind of fun...

You really are ignorant.

Informed people know that active duty military personnel cannot speak negatively about The President.
I have many active duty and retired military friends who, privately have referred to Obama almost universally as a coward.

It is not a secret that the e-ring staff is at odds with Obama over his refusal to prosecute the ISIS problem with a plan to win. They have testified before Congress that boots on the ground is required to win. Obama does not want to defeat ISIS; he wants this to drag out until he is out of office.

The military is very upset with Obama’s VA letting our veterans die so that the VA management can get their bonuses.

The military has no respect for Obama. Deal with it.
