Quite frankly, I'd get out of a moving car to avoid hearing a few of these, but our guys clock in at #8 with ... Ramblin Man (my best Casey Kasem build up). Ramblin Man ... why that one?

Feel free to generate your own list of travel tunes!

off the top of my head

Out on the Open Road
the Motorcycle song
New Lee Highway Blues
She Caught the Katy
Truckin
Key to the Highway

true story - the 1st time we went to Big Sur, we were driving on PCH (US 1) listening to the radio, and I said to my wife - hey - this is like the song. What song?
you know, "driving on the highway, one side was a cliff, the other side was nuthin'"

about a minute later, the radio station we were listeing to start playing the Motorcycle Song.
we always have to listen to Arlo now when we go to Cali

I told him that story, he seemed to get a kick out of it.

Time Waits For No One is a great road song especially when you're driving through the desert.

Motorcycle Mama, Sailcat (it was just posted recently )

Side 2, A New Life (esp. You Ain't Foolin' Me, 24 Hrs at a Time)

Steve Miller Band, Goin' to the Country

& many others -- Born to be Wild I'm sure would b a popular choice

I expected "On the Road Again" and "Born to Be Wild" would be number 1, and neither made the list.

Oh well.

In addition to some mentioned:

America - Simon and Garfunkel (Yes version would also suffice)
Goin down the Road Feelin Bad - Grateful Dead (or Woody Guthrie)
Mountain Jam - ABB
Kings Highway - Tom Petty
Hey, Good Lookin - Hank Williams
Stuck inside Mobile ... - Dylan

If the Brothers are to be represented by only one tune, I'd rather it be "One Way Out"....gets me down the road just a bit quicker.
