It was -24 when I drove my wife to work this morning. What better reason to go South? My wife burst the ballon with all that " we have to work" crap. Eating and taking care of the kids seems highly overrated at times like these.

I can't even imagine the people that have to work outside.

it's 4 degress here in buffalo ny ~ then factor in the wind chill & i heard an hour ago it was negative 14! that sucks! i as well feel for the folks who do have to work outside in it.
the south will have me in a couple years i hope ~ escaping nearly intolorable winters & some of the higest taxes in the nation will be very welcomed!

I feel your pain and please remember to keep your mouth and nose covered. That air is too cold to breathe. You don't want it crystallizing in your lungs.. Record low for my area of Iowa the last couple days was -34. We weren't anywhere near that but I have seen 2 weeks go by when we never made it past +5. Temp was -11 with -28 windchill when I went to work on Monday. Same thing yesterday. Today we're hitting double digits on the + side! It's supposed to get up to +16.

The planet is obviously messed up. It was almost 40 here a week ago which is unheard of for this time of year.

With wind chill today well into the -30s.

Car roared like a dinosaur this morning but it started.

Doctor today but besides that sitting inside with a fire, some tunes and a book for the rest of the day.

It's 33 degrees today here in western NC and everyone is complaining about the cold snap. Normal for this time of year is 46. After 30+ years in Michigan I'm loving it!

So why the hell do you always have to send the cold air down here? Why not send it west where there are no people anyway? I agree about the taking care of the kids comment.

My son had a two hour delay for school the other day due to the cold. He loved it and so did mom, as she is a teacher.

Well, this morning at the cottage, about 3 hours north of Toronto a friend called to say it was -37 Celcius which for yall down south translates to -35F. Even for us up here in the GWN, that bloody cold!!

It's all relative. An old girlfriend lives in Phoenix and when she would fly over here in the summer, at night she would be freezing. 80 degrees out at 2 am and she was freezing.. "It was 120 when I took off" she would say..."That 40 degrees is a huge difference".....yeah, yeah.....

Last week here in San Diego there were a few days where the temp dropped into the low 30s at night. Pretty cold for we left coasters, especially when it had been in the high 70s just days before...

35 below zero...Holy sh*t that is cold. Brings back memories of George Carlin's fictional "Hippy dippy weatherman" Al Sleet

"Remember if you don't like the weather..............................Move"

While its cold, we we will still have the grill going on Friday night and having a few beers outside while the kids skate on the lake or sled down the hill at the back..........you build up your tolerance over time and learn to how to dress properly for it!

While in Michigan it is 19 with the windchill making it feel like 8. I'll take it as it is warmer than yesterday. Still not much snow

it's the wind.

man, it feels like needles stickin' in your face.

I love New England, the four seasons. but today, wow, it's cold.

I can't imagine -35. If you go outside, can you breathe? Do your eyeballs and snot freeze?

It is actually coming from the US Great lakes region which is north of me. You guys are to blame again. (No shock - just my face frozen with mouth open)

Why should I take the kids? Might as well leave them with her as she is pissed already.

Ken may be going for a skate and a slide but he is one of those Crazy Canucks. There is a big hill behind my house and have watched people going over the last two days and no one has made a third run yet which includes my son and that boy never gets bothered by the cold. had to laugh at the tears frozen on his face after going down. I'll have that beer sitting in my living room watching through the window.

Well it was -31 c in Ottawa this morning, that's -24 F before the windchill. It was -38 with wind factored in. I am a cablevision maintenance lineman and work only outside. I just finished my on-call shift. I was supposed to work 10 days in a row. It was cold yesterday at -27c (-16F) but with the forecast for the rest of this week I booked it off as vacation ! I am leaving town for my warm li'l cabin where I will kick back with some great tune's 'til Sunday. I'm staying inside.

it's 68 now in Orlando. I am pissed that I am having to wear blue jeans and shoes instead of my regular shorts and shower shoes. I do miss the days when I didn't have to put my beer in a beer hugger to keep it cold.

It was 67 degrees here in San Diego this morning...I'm over this.

Heading back to Hawaii on Friday for the next 6 months where it's warm.

Here's hoping the cold snap in NY is over when I visit in March for a full week of shows at the Beacon.

Some very DANGEROUS cold temps out there!

I'd strongly recommend making sure your car is in good repair - anti-frezze-winterized, full tank of gas. Maybe throw a blanket and a fireplace starter log in the trunk for emergencies. And make sure your cell phone has a charge on it. You could probably develop hypothermia - freeze to death even in weather like this. Hibernate if you can!

It's 9 degrees in Erie Pennsylvania right now. We got 16 inches of snow Monday and have been adding two or three inches a day all week. We're not supposed to get a break from this pattern until Sunday when it's supposed to climb all the way to 22. A completely unfrozen Lake Erie is mostly to blame for all this.
