Pageau really hurt the Rangers with those 4 goals. Ottawa saved the game on a day when Anderson was not very good. (As did Henry was not good either obviously) No way that Anderson has back to back bad games. Next game will be 1-0 with either side able to do it. I don't like NYR chances in the series. Ottawa in 5

Pitt will take down the Caps because well.....they're the Caps. 7 games

Preds over St. Louis 7 games

Edm wins in 6 - McDavid's coming of age party.

Sens in 6 (The Sens have defied logic all season/playoffs - Hate Pens)

Ducks in 7 (Could go either way - easily - give Star Power edge to the Ducks)

Rematch of previous Cup Final.

This time

Ottawa over the Ducks in 6 for the Cup

Anaheim over Preds 6

It's Not Just In Foxborough
nope, right down on Causeway St.....

ZDENO, 40

is having a real good season -- logging major ice time, up there in the league plus-minus rating -- was solid last year too paired w/Carlo, now he & Charlie McAvoy, 20, mean 60 minutes of trouble for opposing forwards as one of the league's top tandems -- like TB (also Big Papi), Zdeno is coming into twilight of his career on a streak

& TOOOK -- he's heating up (9-0-1 last 10) -- we got Pa-TREEECE, Brad M has played like Brad M over last month or so (ever since suspension/protocol etc)
Adam McQuaid back shortly -- David K is a great player, when he's healthy, we have 3 solid lines

now it's nemesis Wash 2nite -- as we try to catch streaking TB, another big task -- Steven Stamkos, a Big difference maker

we're tied w/resurgent fellow O-6 warhorse Leafs, & RIP, Johnny Bower -- "one of the greats"

halfway point of reg. season, & "the times they are achangin" "who'd'a thunk it" other such sayings
...time was when an expansion team struggled early on
now, in their first year, a strong possibility of winning the Cup??? wtf

Kicker, if they do go all the way, the parade route would be in the desert heat -- Right On The Strip
yep, right in Las Vegas -- OMGsh the high rollers/slot machines etc would have a field day if the Stanley Cup took up residence on the strip this summer -- have they been bankrolled w/casino $ or what

Classy Leafs gave Johnny Bower a great sendoff Wednesday --al the greats from this storied franchise were there (few are left from Johnny's day) -- Johnny's casket was there along w/his family & his No. 1 which was lowered down from the rafters for the occasion
when Boston Garden closed in 1995, Johnny was one of the invited guests, each representing an O-6 team, to the occasion, getting a nice round of applause

Whether at the gym or the rink, on the hardwood or the sheet, Toronto will be big trouble for us 2nd half of seasons -- we're off this week (B's & C's)

Habs, 3 times in a week -- what the heck -- Thankfully, Phillip Danault is OK & back home resting -- that was awful
Big ups from his former players for coach J in Sat Globe article -- he doesn't yet have them where he wants them in this, his 2nd stint w/Habs -- you can never count out Habs

let's go Broonz, Anton is just putting goalie gear on now for Tyler Seguin, Benn & Dal., then Johnny Boychuck & NYI in latr this week -- Dougie Hamilton (2G last nite) & Flames, W7 -- not so much Lootch & Oiliz, slow 1st 1/2 of season.....crazy

Sean Kuraly, Tim Schaller, Noel Acciari -- our best 4th line since that 'Merlot' line of Daniel Paille, Gregory Campbell & Shawn Thornton ..from our wrecking-crew 2013-14 squad (league-best 117 pts) -- D is so sound right now that Adam McQuaid biding his time happy -- new kid Danten, playing Good -- & of course Mr. Pastrnak -- BROONZ

Hawks are no surprise--they peaked a few years back and now have a bunch of high priced average talent. Kane is still fantastic and in his prime but Toews is looking like Rick Nash and Duncan Keith aint that great anymore as well. Without Crawford they are not that formidable. Loss of Anisamov was big but everyone has injuries.

Nashville destroyed them in 4 last year which told me the Hawks are going to fighting to make playoffs and probably not going far.

That win last night in Wash was Habs' best (& most crucial) of season -- we're hoping they'll be a step slow by the later stages of tonite's game
they'll be tired playing on short rest
however, boisterous Habs Sat. nite crowd should make up for that -- good win & all, three losses in a week to your rival, two of them on your own sheet, won't sit well
gotta feeling a chippy one in store 2nite -- Broonz

Not sure how Habs win is crucial at this point. I think they are pretty much done for this season. Habs, Hawks Rangers all on the downward spiral at this point. Aging vets and lack of strong young talent are killing all 3 teams. Goaltending can only get you so far.

Still too early to count out Habs or ChiHawks IMO -- envision Habs halting Colo's win streak 2nite (Colo on 2nd nite of back to back) -- on top of that big Fri win at Wash, Habs could get going

ChiHawks' back-to-back is crucial in same fashion -- a win over anicient rival Red Wings is always worth more than 2 points -- if it comes after win over traditional opponent Tor, that could spark ChiHawks likewise -- Anisamov is back -- no Kreider or Shattenkirk big setbacks for NYR

Main thing, NJ is a very good team -- they're saying McAvoy's thing isn't serious, get back quick big guy -- let's go Broonz

ChiHawks play in a brutal division too, the 7 other teams in Cntl are crushing it right now -- a playoff berth will be harder to come by in the west than east --

that's where we've been lucky -- of the eight sub-.500 teams, 5 are in our div (Atlntc) -- it's been a factor --
fact is, we were outplayed by plenty last night -- Factor? TUUKKA -- break coming at a good time

Blackhawks are really playing bad - worst passing I have seen for a long time - they can't hold a lead and can't get the puck in the net - going to be interesting to see what they do in the off season...........

ChiHawks have fallen back to .500 with a Thud -- a loss at cellar dweller AZ
now coming up directly, the other extreme -- that rampaging juggernaut from the hockey hotbed known as......Las Vegas???? still doesn't compute

the #s don't lie -- in the calendar year since parting ways with Claude Julien (Feb. 7 2017), B's are 52-18-8....

Calgary is very good, we'll have to be better -- Tor is hottest team in the league right now -- they showed that last night beating top-dog Tampa -- we'll have to be sharp to stay ahead of Leafs -- BROONZ

BROONZ -- they honored their 1977-78 team last night -- 11 Players W/20-or-more Goals -- a record that still stands today -- all but Cashman were there
One of them? Stan Jonathan (27) -- he could do more than fight -- same the Big W -- known as a goon, but he had 42 goals the next year (1978-79) -- equaling the output that year of the NYR's Phil Esposito, And Oh But For That Too Many Men On The Ice brain cramp vs. Mont in the semis -- otherwise a B's-Rangiz final that year

nope he was hung in effigy, pilloried in the press, the fans & even some players were angry (Wayne Cashman trashed his hotel room in Vanc when he heard)
But Harry Sinden Was Right -- the unbelievable trade in Nov. 1975 worked out huge in B's favor -- top five almost every year for the next 5 years -- while a devastated Phil & NY were nowhere to be found except that year they made the finals

same thing following spring -- they determined Bobby's knee wouldn't get better, & didn't renew his contract -- we know now that equally brutally-hard decision was also the right one, and equally reviled at the time

Leafs are waiting for Columbus, mayb CBJ can slow them down 2nite

Xclnt read sir -- that's just how it's gone, I'd thought at least Habs and/or ChiHawks could bounce back, but no -- Red Wings likewise unlikely for playoffs for Year 2 PG (post-Gordie ) after a 25 year run

.....leaving then us & Leafs to carry the O6 torch, & so happens the 2 hottest teams at the moment -- bummer, no Auston tonite
the math is simple, they win, they pass us for 2nd place -- we win, status quo remains -- any way, it's a dogfight w/them & TB rest of way for 1st place (overall) -- Leafs visit TB Monday -- we see TB 3 more times, critically important contests 1 & all

This is the time of season I like the best -- more so than playoffs -- you see a lot of different teams & many games among top-layer teams in pivotal games -- look at Blues, blink of an eye (L5), & just like that, way back now -- then look at Flyiz, Smokin -- LV visits Phila March 12, they'll find Broad Street to be a far cry from the strip--
Pitts is also on fire & the 2-time Cup winner & must be considered the favorite in East,

& tonite -- 60 slambang minutes of playoff-atmosphere pucks in hostile environment -- as great as most any postseason matchup -- if we control center ice & Tuukka is sharp, Good Game -- then nearby Buff tmrw, they beat us a couple weeks ago & are unpredictable

but no, he saw something in Tor good enough to compel him to leave San Jose, where he could've been elected mayor, & sure enough, Patrick Marleau at 38 have a great season (20-14-34), & best season in recent decades for this key/marquee franchise in the birthplace of hockey,
