Just learning about it here&now -- overreaction to me -- yes it was a down year but they still won more than lost, & just 1 year ago they won Presidents Trophy etc -- he compiled a good record as GM
that said, little by little key players over last 3-4 years been shipped outta town -- this year almost had to happen like it did, in a way -- we did good in spots but the conference improved & we didn't do it when playoffs were there for the taking

I see him going to Ottawa as he is from here and Bryan Murray's health will prevent anything beyond this season.

Black Hawks game was fun if you are a Hawks fan. Local Chicago media here is already speculating on who will be in goal tomorrow night. Do you go with the hot hand already?

its obviously early
Hawks look very vulnerable and now have questions in goal
Capitals did not show up at all ????? Just don't get it
Vancouver lost as usual, they won't survive round 1 IMO
Habs pulled it out in a great win, This should be a thrilling long series |

very surprised the Ottowa and Winnepeg are down 3-0. Both of these series have been so close that they could each be up 3-0. Just tough to lose like that.
Game 4 of a 2-1 series is usually a war so am really looking forward to Islander and Vancouver games tonight.
I love round 1 of the stanley cup playoffs. Unlike all other sports every series is usually competitive and there are always surprises. |

Once again the Blues bring a talented team to the playoffs and once again they fail to shift into playoff gear. Not that I'm complaining.

Wild are a very talented team and i thought Blues and Wild would be almost a pick them series. Blue do usually have an issue winning a series though. Their goaltending is always suspect.
Darling has played well so far. Nashville is not an offensive juggernaut and Hawks match up great against them. Hawks are just a great team, no denying it-solid up front and on defense-they can play any style. Nashville did not finish season weill and they are banged up. I think Hawks may just win out in 5 |

hopefully Rangers finish off Pens tonight and move on. Islanders are getting too frustrated and Caps have gotten under their skin. I thought Isles would win series but the injury bug has caught them and there depth issue is surfacing big time. I still think they can pull it out but tough.
If Ottowa can win tonight that series will get interesting and a great deal of pressure will be on the Habs.
I expect Hawks and Flames to finsh their series shortly.
Detroit is playing Tampa very tough. |

That comeback by Tampa was a two game swing , instead of being down two games it's all knotted up , I think Tampa Bay will win the next two games . ____________________

Ken Hitchcock to Leafs???? St. Louis bowing out early is becoming something of a tradition.
I think Wild give Bhawks fits in the next round. Hawks are amazing talent wise but Predators lack of talent at forward was glaring at times in the last round.
Habs looked cocky early at Ottawa. I think Ottawa series opened their eyes to the reality of the situation.
Game seven tonight for Caps Ilses is going to be awesome. Heading home (cough cough) for that one.

5 - 0 against Habs this year , Yzerman brought in some good vets with playoffs experience , I like Tampa's chances . ____________________

St Louis over Minn in games.
Chicago over Nash in 6
Winn over Ducks in 7
Calgary over Van in 6
Ottawa over Montreal in 5 (Ronald can't save MTL from the Hamburglar-Robble Robble)
Tampa over Detroit in 6 (Sorry Jack)
NYR over Pitt in 5
Wash over NYI in 6
5 out of 8
Montreal was just lucky as Ottawa outplayed them. Montreal has owned TB till this season but this season TB destroyed them. Bad coaching and plan from Montreal plus Bishop has their number it seems.
TB over Montreal in 6
Wash over NYR in 7 (I know most here will take NYR so mixing it up)
Ducks over Flames in 6
Hawks all the way! Beats Minn in 6 ____________________ Chicago Black Hawks - next season.
