I just got a text message from my friend.

His cousin's co-worker's brother is Claptons personal toenail clipper.

Apparantly Clapton has already set up a toenail clipping apointment in NYC for March 23, 2008.

So we that he will be in NYC...

LETS GO ISLANDERS!!!

So glad Toronto lost.

Don't think Clapton has anything more to prove, especially
since last tour with Derek.

If you haven't figured it out Clapton isn't going to play with ABB anytime soon.

How many great records have the ABB made in last 20 years.
Maybe before you trash someone, you should look it the mirror, itís pretty disgusting, hey!!!

Great thread. This rumor will never die. The first time I saw the Allman Brothers I was about 17, it was shortly after Duane died in 1971 and I was walking around the streets of Staten Island NY with some friends. The Allmans, still touring, were due to play two shows at the Ritz theater that night (that's when bands used to play two shows a night!). Some guy comes up to us and says, "Hey, there's this rumor that Clapton will be playing with Allmans tonight". We were all into Clapton and knew of the Allmans but were not huge fans yet. Anyway, we high-tail it down to the Ritz, buy tickets to the late show.. No Clapton of course.. but the band blew us away, especially Dickie.. That was the beginning of being lifelong fans. Saw the Becon show on 4/2... fantastic! better than ever!

Never Ever.
First off..he's such a weilrd introverted guy, he won't show up. He's strange
I saw his Cradle to the Grave tour from backstage at Nassau Collisium You can't even stand anywhere near his path, or look at him when he's passing.
Besides, besides Duane..Eric never really liked the Boy's, and visa versa..
They never got along..
Having Derek Trucks touring with him is an old oldtimers tactic to stay close to the pulse of the new generation of music fans.

It will never happen.

Again, never understand why we have to try and trash or degrade "the true legends".

That includes the Allman Brothers. Heard all this crap about EC before Derek toured with him. EC is very warm and caring, just very private and does not like to be put on a pedestal, never has never will. Different culture folks. Get over it already.

I just talked to Eric Burdon & yes he will be at all of the 2008 shows if offered. So please stop bashing him already. He doesn't really think of himself as a guitar player anyway. So you can't judge him by those standards.

Wait, we were talking about Eric Burdon right? Oh well, I hear he's available to guest.

First off it was a fricken joke. The web space taken up on this site concerning EC showing up at the Beacon is incredible.
Secondly are you serious??? Why are you even a member on this page??? Lets see in the past 20 years the brothers have released three albums I and many others would agree that are fans of the ABB enjoy from start to finish, Seven Turns, Where it all Began and Hitting the Note are all great albums. Have you even listened to these albums??
I've turned many friends that only knew the early years of the ABB on to the "new" ABB sound and everyone is excited about the new music coming down the line from the ABB. And hey leave my stinking leafs (41 Years and counting) out of it thats where I draw the line Again a joke

What is more likely - The Leafs winning the Cup or clapton showing up at the Beacon.

Odds are that both will never happen.

Again LMAO. Mule I'm pulling for the Saab-Bres. Just tough to call who they will play in second round. If they pull Rangers then could be all good.

Have only received the Sundin holding the golf bag picture like the stanley cup 4 times today.

41 years and counting

No One is trashing anyone. But facts are facts. Eric never liked Dickey, and made no secret of it. Eric had plenty of oppurtunities to show up at an Allman Brother's concert, before Duane died, and after. If it didn't happen then it aint happening now.
I've read numerous articles of quotes on how there was always a resentment between The ABB band and Clapton since Duane left them a few times to play with Clapton.
I have always been a huge Clapton Fan, but this is just about why he probably will never show up at an Allman Brothers concert, not trying to degrade him..we are what we are.

The fact that I state he is a bit strange when dealing with the public, and somewhat introverted is no secret, and has been stated by others much closer to him than I am. But how he treats the friends, and musician he chooses to have in his circle, and other people outside that circle are two different things. While he can be warm and friendly to his keyboard player, he can be cold to someone who has been buying his records for 40 years, or working as a crew member for 20. All we can do is judge how we have been treated.
My Daddy once told me "The real test of a man is his respect for those who can be of no possible value to him".

Oh Clapton, my Clapton!

I'd say at this point, the chances of Clapton showing up for the Brothers show are....NIL!
