Yep BrerRabbit, in 2010 my 13yr old son and I took a trip to Bama, all the way from the banks of Lake Michigan, to see the Brothers, we were greeted at the venue by Randy Stephens and few other wonderful members from this site, they made us feel so welcomed and comfortable, it was literally like watching the show with Friends in my own living room............Peace.........joe

Source close White House: "This is an earthquake... it's devastating for the President"
From CNN's Jim Acosta

A source close to the White House says tonight's result is "devastating for the President."

"This is an earthquake," the source said. "It's Virginia but on steroids."

This source put some of the blame on Steve Bannon. "The President has egg on his face," because of Bannon, the source added.

Bannon told Trump if Moore lost, Democrats would feel emboldened to go after the President on sexual harassment issues, this source who is familiar with Bannon's pleas to Trump explained.

"That's why Trump had to do this," the source continued.

"The President invested his political capital and it blew up in his face," the source added

A separate source who advises the White House said "this is bad."

"The RNC and White House political shop must feel uneasy about their futures," this source added.

So the question here is how much of this was due to:

1) Moore being a sick pervert,

2) Moore's other undesirable qualities,

3) Being a general referendum on the unpopularity of Trump, or

4) Jones was a desirable candidate.

I think 1 and 3 for the most part. Moore was a deeply flawed candidate, but the fact that Trumpís endorsements went 0-2 certainly means that voters in Alabama didn't care one bit about Trump or what Trump wanted, and this in one of the most deeply red states that voted overwelmingly for Trump just a year ago. Trumpís endorsements have been on a losing streak of late, and you have to wonder if a Trump endorsement is now the kiss of death.

I was wondering this too, since I don't live in Alabama. Bannon was Moore's champion back in the primary round, which says a lot about Moore's politics. It seemed the only reason Strange lost to Moore in the primary was because he was appointmed by a suddenly disgraced Governor. I'm sure, down the stretch, Trump's support helped polarize Alabama voters since there aren't many casual Trump fans left. Considering Trump's approval rating, even in Alabama, he might have done more harm by so vocally supporting Moore in the final week of the campaign while other GOP Senators denounced Moore.

Many of the gross allegations against Moore are unproven, but there are a number of them, and getting banned from a mall for inappropriate behavior is a documented fact. It's unfortunate that all of those allegations often pushed aside his many racist, anti-Constitution and tone deaf statements, because those alone should have sunk him in the primary. Even on the last day of the campaign, Moore's wife pleaded in his defense, with absolutely no self-awareness, "our lawyer is a Jew". The guy was removed from the bench twice for good reasons.

It also clouded our view of Doug Jones, who seems like he will be a perfectly able Senator. He was a long shot from the start, but as a moderate Democrat, he's just the type of centrist the Senate needs more of.

But hey, good to know Goobs doesn't judge enabling racism.

Sanity prevails briefly. Whatís funny is now Trumpolini is playing the ďI told ya so, system is riggedĒ card, what isnít funny is that at least a quarter of our population like goober and muleturd will buy his bs and blame this on the media instead of using common sense and blaming it on the ineptitude of the GOP. Whatever, people have a right to be delusional I suppose.

Wah wah wah, cry me a river. You and Trump need to man up and stop worrying about powerless cable news outlets with only a million viewers. Smarter people would worry about the local news that reaches 200 million. But you go ahead and worry about the ones that reach 1 million. Idiot.

As pointed out by others, Trump's ineptitude and ignorance is becoming all too clear to many who previously supported him and his support for Moore may well have been, combined with other factors, what in the end propelled Jones to victory.

What will be interesting to observe is if Republican's in the House and Senate begin pealing off their support for Trump as he is becoming ever more toxic and their chances or re-election could very well hinge on how they proceed vis a vis little Donny...

The same could be said for Steve Bannon....This is the second colossal failure for him in just a few months.

Much of this was a reflection on Trump. Trump defied the polls in his general election win over HC. But it seems the polls of his terrible favorability ratings and other misc categories are catching up to him. The results in several states can be seen as a referendum on those low numbers. Large numbers of voters are coming out to voice disapproval of the Reality TV President who represents all things "fake".

The way things are going, his numbers may hit the 20's. Would not be surprised to see him have a primary challenger if things continue with him and his self-inflicted damage. The GOP can only sit around but so long before he takes them down with him.

Song, Song of the south
Sweet potato pie, and I shut my mouth
Gone, gone with the wind
There ain't nobody looking back again

Cotton on roadside, cotton in the ditch
We all picked the cotton but we never got rich
Daddy was a veteran, a southern democrat
They oughta get a rich man to vote like that singing

Song, song of the south
Sweet potato pie, and I shut my mouth
Gone, gone with the wind
There ain't nobody looking back again

Well somebody told us wall street fell
But we were so poor that we couldn't tell
The cotton was short, and the weeds was' tall
But Mr. Roosevelt's a'gonna save us all

Well momma got sick, and daddy got down
The county got the farm, and we moved to town
Poppa got a job with the TVA
We bought a washing machine, and then a Chevrolet

Singing
Song song of the south
Sweet potato pie, and I shut my mouth
Gone, gone with the wind
There ain't nobody looking back again ...

If Doug Jones goes to Washington and represents the people of AL than he will do just fine with thd Trump agenda. If he ghoes to Wash to be a Schumer & Pelosi puppet than he will have to deal with the residents of his homestate.

basically Moore was a flawed candidate, not because he was Republican, but because he was fukin nuts. Blacks hated some of the things he said, ie slavery. and people in his own party had a problem with him and voted in droves for a write in. i believe they followed Shelby's? advice.

as far as trump goes, he had no influence on this race. not for the 1st guy he backed or for Moore. now it is embarrassing for him i'm sure to pick 2 losers and sends a bad message to his supporters. otherwise nothing more to it, so far.

These threads are so funny. Someone states an opinion that is contrary to the beliefs of the same cast of characters here and the bashing and name calling begins.

This in my opinion is exactly why Trump won. No dialogue, just "Morons" & "Idiots" with the audacity to think differently.
