OriginalGoober - 10/31/2018 at 11:47 PM

Vote and Accept the results afterwards. Democrats need to drop the "resist" rhetoric.

I remember when Rush Limbaugh said he was going to move to Costa Rica if Obama won.

We will never get that lucky.

I remember that over the last few elections some prominent Dem celebs said they would leave the country if Bush/Bush/Trump won.
Haven't seen any of them leave yet.

Madonna moved to Portugal after Trump was elected. That is the only one I know of that followed through.

A number of prominent Republicans said the same thing about Obama. None left.

Rush Limbaugh wouldn’t be welcome in any country

I still see plenty NOBAMA and OBAMANATION bumperstickers from a decade ago. And still see LOCK HER UP stickers from 2016. Not one sticker ripping Trump. Looks like some serious chronic butt hurt.

That's why i generally take statements like that with a grain of salt.

Every interview I've seen madonna brings up soccer as the reason she moved to Portugal. Her son wants to play pro soccer and she says the move was to find trainers to bring him up to a caliber of playing to give him that chance.
In the Kelly and Ryan interview she claims she is not only "soccer mom" but a fat "soccer mom".

nebish - 11/2/2018 at 08:59 PM

I early voted today. Past two ballots I voted issues only. I'm about done with everyone seeking office.

Jerry - 11/5/2018 at 04:21 AM

As a presenter on CBS Morning said today, "If you don't vote, then you voted. You voted for someone else to make your decisions, don't complain if they make a different decision than what you wanted"

Jerry - 11/6/2018 at 02:46 PM

GET OUT AND VOTE TODAY!!!!!!!!

piacere - 11/6/2018 at 05:19 PM

I voted.

If you're a Republican here in RI it's like shoveling sh!t against the tide. All three members of Congress (Democrats) will get reelected in a walk. So will the Democrat governor, Democrat mayor of Providence. I loathe them all. It's borderline psychotic how much I despise the sniveling, spineless blowhards. Geez, I hate them.
Sorry, I had to get that out of my system.

Yes, yes it is.

Instead of complaining, why don't YOU run for office?

Hi Mark!! Hope you're well buddy. Had a meeting in Providence the other day. Thought of you. And Buddy Cianci...

I sincerely hope she is happy. That being said, it will never cease to amaze me how celebrities feel their voice is relevant. Especially actors, "Shut up and listen to Robert DiNiro and Scott Baio, they memorize words for a living"!

lol

I Voted, did you?

You should hear me talking about the Giants!
Far too inflammatory for your sensitive ears.

Brendan!

Keep looking for you in the NFL thread.
You make it up to Federal Hill?
Still rollin' along, came by here today to voice my concerns, as gently as possible, about the congressional delegation that represents our dysfunctional little corner of the world. Basically just for laughs. I should use strategically located smiley faces.
Hope all is well dude. BTW, you need some offense.
See ya 'round

As an Eagles fan, we can share that sentiment.

Coming from someone who just posted that they are borderline psychotic because of politicians. Filled with inflammatory material are we? First it was politicians in RI, now the Giants. Election Day got you rattled a bit?

I'm not "filled" with inflammatory material, unless you consider the two burritos I had for lunch.

BoytonBrother - 11/6/2018 at 08:42 PM

Fair point.

Anytime you live in a state that is overwelming one party or the other, sometimes it feels like your vote doesn't count, especially in a presidential year. Pisses me off that whether you are in blue California or red Oklahoma, your vote means nothing compared to a voter in Ohio or Florida. I understand the constitution was a compromise, but every vote should count the same.

...it's bad enough (for me and other Republicans) that our entire congressional delegation is liberal but it's how and why they stick to their agenda. They're spineless. RI ranks last or damn near it in most economic indicators and yet the Dems control everything, it's automatic. I vote. I vote to appease my conscience. My vote is otherwise useless.

Serious question - have you ever thought about moving to an area that fits your values and has more prosperity? I had this same problem, growing up in a very rural conservative town, so in my early years I got the heck outta dodge and moved to the big city. I know sometimes it’s not practical for everyone, but seeing how you loathe the state, I thought I’d ask.

I remember our President claiming that he would show his tax returns.
Haven't seen any of them shown yet.

Now may be the time. He may be compelled by law.
