As David Frum pointed out on Bill Maher's show last night; the memo, while complete stupidity and utter nonsense, doesn't need to actually be true or accurate or contain any revelation whatsoever. It only needs to sew seeds of doubt in Trump's ignorant base who believe anything Trump and his surrogates say regarding the Mueller investigation.

It simply is more cover to justify the forthcoming firings and therefore OBSTRUCTING further any investigation of Trump and the campaign. Frum further suggested that the Republicans who are allowing this to happen are simply being drawn in out of fear of the Trump base. Some are so fearful of both the Trump base and the electorate as a whole that the are already announcing they're not seeking re-election.

I will add one additional caveat, this entire memo business has also, yet again, distracted many from other things this administration is doing while the media is caught up with this saga. That being that the Trump administration chose this week to announce it IS NOT putting in place the Russian sanctions required by congressional action some months ago. That should make everyone, left or right, question what exactly the legislative branch is doing to counteract Trump's obvious efforts at appeasing the Russians.

This memo totally vindicates “Trump” in probe. But the Russian Witch Hunt goes on and on. Their was no Collusion and there was no Obstruction (the word now used because, after one year of looking endlessly and finding NOTHING, collusion is dead). This is an American disgrace!

As many ridiculous claims and things Trump has said, this "total vindication" is perhaps the most ridiculous.

Rep. Devin Nunes “memo” exposing the corruption of Obama’s DOJ and FBI was only phase one.

Phase two is up next and will expose the corruption in the Obama/Clinton State Department.

Uranium One informant says Moscow paid millions in bid to influence Clinton
www.foxnews.com

Informant makes shocking claims in Uranium One scandal

Informant claims Russian nuclear officials told him that Moscow hired the American lobbying firm APCO Worldwide in hopes of influencing then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton through contributions to the Clinton Foundation; Griff Jenkins reports on latest developments.

An FBI informant involved in the controversial Uranium One deal has told congressional committees that Moscow paid millions to a U.S. lobbying firm in a bid to influence then-Secretary of State

Hillary Clinton by helping former President Bill Clinton’s charities during the Obama administration.
The Hill first reported late Wednesday that informant Douglas Campbell gave a 10-page statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee, House Intelligence Committee and House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and was interviewed for several hours behind closed doors by committee staff.

In the statement, obtained by Fox News, Campbell said Russian executives told him that Moscow was hiring APCO Worldwide in an effort to influence the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton.

Campbell said Russian nuclear officials “told me at various times that they expected APCO to apply a portion of the $3 million annual lobbying fee it was receiving from the Russians to provide in-kind support for the Clinton’s Global Initiative.”

“The contract called for four payments of $750,000 over twelve months,” Campbell said in the statement. “APCO was expected to give assistance free of charge to the Clinton Global Initiative as part of their effort to create a favorable environment to ensure the Obama administration made affirmative decisions on everything from Uranium One to the US-Russia Civilian Nuclear Cooperation agreement.”

In a statement to Fox News, though, APCO called Campbell's assertion "false and unfounded."
"APCO Worldwide undertook client work on behalf of Tenex in 2010 and 2011. It undertook work for the Clinton Global Initiative from 2008-2016," APCO told Fox News. "These projects were totally separate and unconnected in any way. All APCO’s actions on these two unconnected activities were publicly documented from the outset, legally proper and entirely ethical. Any assertion otherwise is false and unfounded."

Uranium One is a Canadian mining company whose sale to a Russian firm was approved in 2010. The U.S. government was involved because the sale gave the Russians control of part of the U.S. uranium supply. The transaction has faced renewed scrutiny after The Hill reported last year that the FBI had evidence as early as 2009 that Russian operatives used bribes, kickbacks and other dirty tactics to expand Moscow’s atomic energy footprint in the U.S., related to a subsidiary of the same Russian firm.

Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill want to know how the deal was approved the following year by an inter-agency committee.

The Campbell statement also described an earlier meeting with Russian officials outside Washington where they "boasted about how weak the U.S. government was in giving away uranium business," and referred to then-President Barack Obama "with racial epithets."
Campbell’s attorney Victoria Toensing said her client has reported a “strategic plan” by Russian President Vladimir Putin to “take over the uranium industry.”

“[The Russians] were so confident that they told Mr. Campbell with the Clinton’s help, it was a shoo-in to get CFIUS [The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States] approval,” Toensing said on “Hannity.” “They were so confident in that that they even had him open up the new office because they were planning on the kind of business they were going to do as soon as CFIUS approved it.”

An FBI informant alleged that Moscow paid millions in an effort to influence then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. (Reuters)

Toensing told Fox News that Campbell was told by the FBI that Obama was aware of the information.

“He was told that President Obama had it in his daily briefing twice,” Toensing said.

Congressional Republicans have called for further investigation into Uranium One. Attorney General Jeff Sessions last year directed senior federal prosecutors to evaluate “certain issues” requested by Republicans, including Uranium One and alleged dealings related to the Clinton Foundation, leaving the door open for the appointment of another special counsel.

But this week, Democrats have charged that Campbell’s statements and the Republican interest in them is a tactic to distract from the larger Russia probe clouding the Trump administration.

Democrats have accused Republicans of making “wild claims” against Clinton.

“Republicans have been talking directly to this individual while refusing to grant Democratic members access, despite multiple requests,” Ranking Members of the House oversight and intelligence committees, Elijah Cummings, D-Md., and Adam Schiff, D-Calif., said in a statement. “During this same time period, Republicans have been making wild and unsubstantiated allegations against Secretary Clinton on national television based on this individual’s information.”
Cummings and Schiff said that the Justice Department provided them with a “detailed briefing” that “directly contradicts these Republican allegations.”

Cummings and Schiff said Campbell never provided any evidence or made allegations regarding Clinton or the Clinton Foundation in any of their interactions with him.

The ranking members claimed that the Justice Department stated that “at no point did [the individual] provide any allegation of corruption, illegality, or impropriety on Clinton, the Clinton Foundation, President Clinton, the Uranium One deal, or CFIUS,” and said there were “no allegations of impropriety or illegality” regarding Clinton in the documents they reviewed.
The Justice Department told Fox News they would not confirm whether the Schiff-Cummings characterization was accurate.

Toensing disputed the Democrats' claims, calling Schiff "disingenuous."

Democrat Senator caught colluding with Russians

Democratic Sen. Mark Warner texted with Russian oligarch lobbyist in effort to contact dossier author Christopher Steele
www.foxnews.com

EXCLUSIVE – Sen. Mark Warner, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee who has been leading a congressional investigation into President Trump's alleged ties to Russia, had extensive contact last year with a lobbyist for a Russian oligarch who was offering Warner access to former British spy and dossier author Christopher Steele, according to text messages obtained exclusively by Fox News.

"We have so much to discuss u need to be careful but we can help our country," Warner texted the lobbyist, Adam Waldman, on March 22, 2017.

"I'm in," Waldman, whose firm has ties to Hillary Clinton, texted back to Warner.

Steele famously put together the anti-Trump dossier of unverified information that was used by FBI and Justice Department officials in October 2016 to get a warrant to conduct surveillance of former Trump adviser Carter Page. Despite the efforts, Steele has not agreed to an interview with the committee.

Sen. Mark Warner, left, the top Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee who has been leading a congressional investigation into President Trump's alleged ties to Russia, had extensive contact last year with a lobbyist for a Russian oligarch who was offering Warner access to former British spy and dossier author Christopher Steele, according to text messages obtained exclusively by Fox News. (AP)

Secrecy seemed very important to Warner as the conversation with Waldman heated up March 29, when the lobbyist revealed that Steele wanted a bipartisan letter from Warner and the committee’s chairman, North Carolina Republican Sen. Richard Burr, inviting him to talk to the Senate intelligence panel.

Throughout the text exchanges, Warner seemed particularly intent on connecting directly with Steele without anyone else on the Senate Intelligence Committee being in the loop -- at least initially. In one text to the lobbyist, Warner wrote that he would "rather not have a paper trail" of his messages.

An aide to Warner confirmed to Fox News that the text messages are authentic. The messages, which were obtained from a Republican source, are all marked "CONFIDENTIAL" and are not classified. They were turned over to the Senate panel by Waldman last September.

Waldman, who did not return calls seeking comments, runs the Endeavor Group in Washington.
Waldman is best known for signing a $40,000 monthly retainer in 2009 and 2010 to lobby the U.S. government on behalf of controversial Russian billionaire Oleg V. Deripaska. Deripraska had his visa revoked by the State Department in 2006 because of charges, which he has denied, that he has organized crime ties.

An aide to Burr, the Republican chairman, told Fox News that Burr was aware of the "contact" Warner made with Steele's representative but added, "I don't believe he was aware of the content of the text messages" initially.

North Carolina Republican Sen. Richard Burr, left, the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, with Warner.

The senators released a joint statement to Fox News stressing they are working together, while blasting the “leaks of incomplete information.”

They said the committee has been in possession of this material for several months and committee investigators have pursued all relevant investigative leads related to the material.

"From the beginning of our investigation we have taken each step in a bipartisan way, and we intend to continue to do so," Warner and Burr said in the statement. "Leaks of incomplete information out of context by anyone, inside or outside our committee, are unacceptable."

Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., another member of the committee, tweeted Thursday night that Warner "fully disclosed this to the committee four months ago." He added that the disclosure "has had zero impact on our work."

The conversation about Steele started on March 16, 2017, when Waldman texted, "Chris Steele asked me to call you."

Warner responded, "Will call tomorrow be careful."

The records show Warner and Waldman had trouble connecting by phone. On March 20, Warner pressed Waldman by text to get him access to Steele.

"Can you talk tomorrow want to get with ur English friend," Warner texted.

"We have so much to discuss u need to be careful but we can help our country"
- Warner, in text to lobbyist Adam Waldman, March 22, 2017

"I spoke to him yesterday," Waldman texted.

The two men appear to have finally connected about Steele by phone on March 22, according to the records.

"Hey just tried u again gotta give a speech but really want to finish our talk," Warner texted.
Waldman, at one point, texted back that Steele really wanted a bi-partisan letter requesting his testimony first. He added that Steele was concerned about word leaking to the media that they were talking.

In one text, Warner suggested he did not want Burr or any other senator included in the discussions: "Ok but I wud (sic) like to do prelim call u me and him no one else before letter just so we have to trail to start want to discuss scope first before letter no leaks."

Waldman noted repeatedly that Steele was concerned about leaks and was "spooked" by all of the attention he had received around the world. Steele, he said, was skittish about talking to Warner.
Warner texted back on March 30: "We want to do this right private in London don't want to send letter yet cuz if we can't get agreement wud rather not have paper trail."

On April 5, Warner texted, "Any word on Steele.”

"Yes seems to have cold feet from the leaks. Said he wanted a bipartisan letter followed by written questions," texted Waldman, adding that the Wall Street Journal had contacted him asking if he was an intermediary between the panel and Steele.

In the text messages, Warner also discussed the possibility of a trip to see Steele.

On March 23, Warner texted, "Need to coordinate date for trip can u talk with my scheduler also want to discuss Paul," an apparent reference to former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, whose initials are used in the next text by Waldman.

On March 26, Warner texted, "Really need to set date things r going to really pick up."

"Standying by to do it," texted Waldman. "Awaiting call from your scheduler and also the letter he (Steele) would like they(sic) we discussed. And have second interesting thing to raise. Pls call."

But after calls back and forth, Warner made clear that he wanted to talk to Steele directly without Burr or anyone else being involved, even though Steele was insisting through Waldman that the contact start with a bipartisan letter inviting him to cooperate with the Senate panel.

"Hey can't we do brief (off the record) call today before letter so I can frame letter," Warner texted Waldman on March 29.

"Steele wants to have letter first. Or did you mean call w me?" Waldman texted back.

Warner’s text messages were quietly given to the intelligence committee after he and Burr signed a joint request for the messages last June. Warner and Burr privately informed the rest of the Democratic and Republican senators on the panel of Warner's text messages in a meeting last October.

A Warner aide acknowledged that Warner and Burr revealed the texts to their colleagues on the panel because "they realized out of context it doesn't look great." But aides to Warner and Burr both stressed that the chairman was kept apprised of Warner's efforts.

An aide to Burr knew there was a "back channel" Warner was using to try and get to Steele and was not concerned that Warner was freelancing on the matter.

Warner began texting with Waldman in February 2017 about the possibility of helping to broker a deal with the Justice Department to get the WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to the United States to potentially face criminal charges. That went nowhere, though a Warner aide told Fox News that the senator shared his previously undisclosed private conversations about WikiLeaks with the FBI.

Over the course of four months between February and May 2017, Warner and Waldman also exchanged dozens of texts about possible testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee from Deripaska, Waldman's primary Russian billionaire client.

In January 2009, Harper's Magazine reported that Deripaska had hired an advisory firm with close ties to Hillary Clinton to help him get a visa to enter the United States." The magazine quoted Waldman as saying his firm does not lobby, though he filed paperwork with the Justice Department to represent Deripaska before the U.S. government.

In the dozens of text messages between February 2017 and May 2017, Waldman also talked to Warner about getting Deripraska to cooperate with the intelligence committee. There have been reports that Deripraksa, who has sued Manafort over a failed business deal, has information to share about the former Trump aide.

In May 2017, the Senate and House intelligence committees decided not to give Deripraska legal immunity in exchange for testimony to the panels. The text messages between Warner and Waldman appeared to stop that month.

Ed Henry currently serves as FOX News Channel’s (FNC) chief national correspondent. He joined the network in June 2011.

Whether or not a law has been passed is not a matter of opinion. If that link is wrong, provide a link that proves it. And don’t whine that you are not going to do our research for us. Our research is done. Now it is your turn to put up or shut up.

Little keller represents the perfect the typical left-wing idiot.

It seems keller still cannot source publicly available information. Previously keller has been proven to be incapable of looking up House of Representatives Bills, Senate Bills or FBI Crime Statistics.

On this particular issue verifying what I posted is easy; except for keller and a few of his type.

Let’s see if keller can lookup California’s AB 1461.

DEPORT THEM ALL!!!!!!!

[Edited on 2/3/2018 by PhotoRon286]

The Democrats do not want them deported. They want them here because they helped them get registered to vote. This is not even new. They did that to get re-districting done when they wanted Obama elected. (though after all those years under Bush, you kind of can't blame them too much considering...)

I was referring to the people "outed" in the nunes memo.

Try to keep up.

And drop that whole "illegal immigrants vote for democrats" crap, we hear enough of it from the other loons like limbaugh and hannity.

The illegal immigrants being bussed, and voting in multi states was documented by the Project Veritas people who called attention to election rigging. They discussed how they would do using busses and rental cars etc. etc.

Please provide us a link. Nobody was bussed across any lines. Tell me, how does an illegal immigrant bussed anywhere suddenly appear on the voter roster?

It is easy son.
California issues driver's licenses to illegal aliens and during the process to get that license they are automatically signed up to vote.

More lies with no proof...

It seems that you cannot read. Let us look at that law.

https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201520 160AB1461

his bill would require the Secretary of State and the Department of Motor Vehicles to establish the California New Motor Voter Program for the purpose of increasing opportunities for voter registration by any person who is qualified to be a voter. Under the program, after the Secretary of State certifies that certain enumerated conditions are satisfied, the Department of Motor Vehicles would be required to electronically provide to the Secretary of State the records of each person who is issued an original or renewal of a driver’s license or state identification card or who provides the department with a change of address, as specified. The person’s motor vehicle records would then constitute a completed affidavit of registration and the person would be registered to vote, unless the person affirmatively declined to be registered to vote during a transaction with the department, the department did not represent to the Secretary of State that the person attested that he or she meets all voter eligibility requirements, as specified, or the Secretary of State determines that the person is ineligible to vote. The bill would require the Secretary of State to adopt regulations to implement this program, as specified.

Further down is the point that you don't understand. I imagine that you will claim this makes you right, but it really doesn't It discusses who is to blame for errors.

Existing law makes it a crime for a person to willfully cause, procure, or allow himself or herself or any other person to be registered as a voter, knowing that he or she or that other person is not entitled to registration. Existing law also makes it a crime to fraudulently vote or attempt to vote.
This bill would provide that if a person who is ineligible to vote becomes registered to vote by operation of the California New Motor Voter Program in the absence of a violation by that person of the crime described above, that person’s registration shall be presumed to have been effected with official authorization and not the fault of that person. The bill would also provide that if a person who is ineligible to vote becomes registered to vote by operation of this program, and that person votes or attempts to vote in an election held after the effective date of the person’s registration, that person shall be presumed to have acted with official authorization and is not guilty of fraudulently voting or attempting to vote, unless that person willfully votes or attempts to vote knowing that he or she is not entitled to vote.

I did my research, once again, you didn't.

Yet California’s AB 1461, along with the other legislation passed to corrupt the integrity of voting and signed into law allows illegal aliens to obtain a driver's license and be automatically registered to vote.

Most likely the illegal aliens will also be automatically registered a Democrats in the same manner the Cover California (the CA version of Obamacare) automatically signed up illegal aliens to vote and were assigned to the Democrats.

Voter corruption continues.

The collusion of the Hillary Clinton/Obama regime and Russia continues to be exposed:

Uranium One informant says Moscow paid millions in bid to influence Clinton
www.foxnews.com

An FBI informant involved in the controversial Uranium One deal has told congressional committees that Moscow paid millions to a U.S. lobbying firm in a bid to influence then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by helping former President Bill Clinton’s charities during the Obama administration.

The Clinton Global Initiative did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

Hillary Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill panned the informant claims, likening them to the controversial "Nunes memo" on alleged surveillance abuse released last week and newly released text messages between anti-Trump FBI officials.

"Just this week the committee made clear that this secret informant charade was just that, a charade. Along with the widely debunked text-message-gate and Nunes' embarrassing memo episode, we have a trifecta of GOP-manufactured scandals designed to distract from their own President's problems and the threat to democracy he poses," he said in a statement.

Republicans control Washington, Trump chose his own FBI director......where are the charges?

gina - 2/15/2018 at 08:14 PM

They are boycotting Sean Hannity, because he's got the goods on them. They also ignore Judge Napolitano, and Judge Jeanine because they are with Hannity. They are also working on the budget which is due March 23rd.

gina - 2/15/2018 at 09:21 PM

Just because we don't hear anything does not mean they are not doing anything about it. They might be. About a month ago there was chatter about 5,000 indictments that would be coming down, that takes a little time, it is not just one person involved. The government is huge, the agencies have lots of people, and those people are involved in doing their jobs with many cases not just one. Trump vowed to take it on and drain the swamp, it just takes time.

It was a political document intentionally written to force the White House to redact much of it or refuse to publish it so that Democrats could run to the TV cameras and play their pathetic political games.

The White House exposed the Democrats memo for the political crap it was and no one is talking about anymore.

The Republican memo exposed the corruption in Obama's DOJ and FBI.

It's hard for him to keep his lies straight.

Oh that's right, the corrupt liberal media which controls you doesn't report anything that exposes their bias.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions on Monday announced the Justice Department will investigate missing text messages sent between two FBI agents critical of President Trump, joining the chorus of Republican lawmakers who are eager to recover the exchange.

Uranium One Investigation Yielding Indictments
On 12 January 2018, the U.S. Department of Justice unsealed an eleven-count indictment against a Maryland man who is accused of bribing a former Russian energy official in a scheme to win nuclear fuel transportation contracts for his company. Although on its face it appears to be a straightforward story of corruption, the indictment has become conflated with one of the most fevered post-election 2016 conspiracy theories — Uranium One.

That's some questionable journalism right there. A real investigation, if it were occurring, would be frequently reported by FoxNews. You shouldn't need to scrape bottom to make your point.

And I wonder if you realize you cited the Snopes article that debunks the very claim you were attempting to make?

Now that is funny.

The many investigations into "Obama's corrupt DOJ and FBI as well into Hillary Clinton are well known and widely reported.

Why is it you are ignorant of factual news?

Nice catch Leaf. He cut and pasted from Snopes. He thought that bit of the article sounded good looks like. He knows, that's why he didn't post this link:

https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/has-indictment-been-issued-uranium-one/

Of course he left out this, from the same snopes piece:

The 24-page indictment filed on 10 January 2018 in federal court in Maryland makes no mention of the Clintons, their charitable foundation, or Uranium One.

Who sent this guy?

I have found out, over a period of time, the Mule can't be bothered to read the links he posts. He looks for a good headline and posts the link. This has burned him multiple times in the past. It's quite funny.

Wrong again dumba$$.

My post did not come from Snopes.

There are multiple reports, as well as the press conferences of investigations into the corruption of Obama's DOJ and FBI but as usual you are too stupid to source factual data.

House Intel finds 'no evidence of collusion' between Trump campaign and Russia

www.foxnews.com

The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence said Monday it found “no evidence of collusion, coordination or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians,” as its Russia investigation starts to come to a close.

Rep. Mike Conaway, R-Texas, who has led the committee’s bipartisan investigation into Russian meddling and potential collusion with Trump campaign associates during the 2016 presidential election, announced Monday that the panel had completed a more than 150-page draft report, with its initial findings and recommendations.

“We have found no evidence of collusion, coordination, or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians,” the committee said in a statement Monday.

"We have found no evidence of collusion, coordination, or conspiracy between the Trump campaign and the Russians."
- House Intelligence Committee, Majority Staff

The committee's investigation was based on four topics: Russian active measures against the 2016 U.S. election, the U.S. government's response to the attack, links between Russians and the Trump and Clinton campaigns, and purported leaks of classified information.

"We believe we've got the information necessary to answer those for the American people," Conaway said on "Special Report"Monday.

The report also noted that based on its investigation which lasted more than a year, the committee disagreed with the intelligence community’s assessment that Russian President Vladimir Putin had a “supposed preference” for then-candidate Donald Trump.

“We disagree with the Intelligence Community’s position that Putin favored Trump,” Conaway told Fox News. He said he had “no contact” with the White House during the probe.

The majority staff on the committee is expected to send the draft report to the minority staff, led by ranking member Adam Schiff, D-Calif., on Tuesday. Once the draft report is adopted by committee Democrats, the report will be submitted to the intelligence community for a declassification review, and following that process, it will be released to the public, officials said, though the timeline at this point is unknown.

“The report’s completion will signify the closure of one chapter in the Committee’s robust oversight of the threat posed by Moscow—which began well before the investigation and will continue thereafter,” Conaway said.

A source close to the committee leadership, though, told Fox News that the Democrats on the committee likely would disagree with the majority report.

The draft report included 40 other findings, including how Russians used social media to “sow discord” in 2015 and 2016, a “lackluster” pre-election response to Russian measures, how “anti-Trump research” made its way from Russian sources to the Clinton campaign, and “problematic contacts between senior Intelligence Community officials and the media.”

The report also included more than 25 recommendations for Congress and the executive branch to improve election security, U.S. government response to cyberattacks, campaign finance transparency, and counterintelligence practices related to political campaigns and unauthorized disclosures.

“Campaign finance disclosures ought to be a little more wholesome,” Conaway said on “Special Report” referring to the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee's filing of payments for “opposition research” leading to the anti-Trump dossier as legal matters.

The report's recommendations on handling leaks are serious, according to Conaway.

“Leaks of classified information are criminal," he said. “Leaks can get people killed."

A committee source told Fox News that the “investigation” portion of the probe was complete, meaning the committee would not interview any additional witnesses as part of its effort.

“I’m sure [committee Democrats] will disagree with bringing the interview phase to a close,” Conaway told Fox News. “I’m sure they will have specific folks they wanted to interview.”

Conaway said that the Republicans on the committee wanted to interview former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, but said Schiff “wanted to delay us.” Once Manafort was indicted in Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation, the committee decided not to call him for an interview.

Conaway also said that he did not “anticipate” pursuing contempt proceedings against former Trump campaign manager Steve Bannon or any other witnesses who did not respond favorably to the committee's questioning.

Conaway took over the probe when House Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., stepped down in April 2017 after he was accused of making “unauthorized disclosures of classified information, in violation of House Rules, law regulations, or other standards of conduct,” according to the House Ethics Committee which investigated the allegations. Nunes supporters at the time said that it was a “clever political trick” by the Democrats.

“After more than a year, the Committee has finished its Russia investigation and will now work on completing our report," Nunes said in a statement Monday. "I’d like to thank Congressmen Trey Gowdy, Tom Rooney, and especially Mike Conaway for the excellent job they’ve done leading this investigation. I’d also like to recognize the hard work undertaken by our other Committee members as well as our staff. Once the Committee’s final report is issued, we hope our findings and recommendations will be useful for improving security and integrity for the 2018 midterm elections.”

Republicans on the committee, though, have expanded their investigation of the Trump dossier, seeking answers from Obama administration officials, including a former staffer for Vice President Joe Biden. Nunes sent a questionnaire to the former Biden staffer, whose husband worked for Fusion GPS, the firm behind the dossier, seeking answers to when the administration was made aware of the dossier.
