ALLMAN BROTHERS FOX THEATRE 9/26/2004
Night #3 at the Fabulous Fox
brought us another great show. As we say in Panic land, Sunday Night Heat! The
2nd set was epic, and definately my favorite set of 3 night run! It capped off
a great weekend of music! The first set was the longest of the 3 nights. It
will not fit on a single cd, a nice problem to have to encounter! After the
first 4 songs, the Brothers played 3 long numbers, a bit toward the mellow
side. The crowd itself was not quite as rowdy as the first 2 nights. We thought
that End of the Line, might close the set, but then they layed on us a killer
version of Dreams, that Warren just blistered! This was 1 of only 2 songs that
would be repeated over the 3 nights, the other being Don't Keep me Wonderin'.
Dreams was actually played all 3 nights. If you are going to hear a song 3
nights in a row, this is one that no one will complain about!
I can't say enough about the 2nd set. From the opening drum beat of Guilded
Splinters to the end of Elizabeth Reed, we were all gripped by the amount of
energy and the delivery of the music itself. Having Rob Baracco sit in for a
good portion of the set added some rockin' layers to the music. It is always
moving to see the images of Duane and Woody during No One Left to Run With!
Jeff Travitz and I had seats in row B, right center. We hoisted the mic stand,
with the Schoeps sitting about 15 feet in the air. We clamped on Z's B&K's
about 13 feet in the up. I ran his rig next to Jeff's. We had some great
neighbors in our section last night. Great meeting Syd from GABBA! Jessica
finally made it down for the encore, about time!

This was my first ABB shows at the Fox since the 5 night run back in '98. We
probably saw more different songs in 3 nights than we saw in all 5 back then.
Also, the Falcons are 3-0 for the first time since the mid 80's! And for a
couple of you who shall remain nameless, the Giants took care of the Browns!
49'ers shut out for the first time in over 25 years!
